Better than advertised
So this product is a wonderful alternative to its Windows counterpart. Not only that, it's a better option in my opinion, the only edge that the windows tablet has is that it already comes with an operating system. The Huion pen is just as, if not more sensitive than the windows tablet. The price is bar-none a great deal, it competed with other products with a price 9 times higher and Huion delivers massively. The "value for dollar" doctrine isn't just shown, it's too obvious to ignore. Is anyone is on the fence of buying something with a price tag of 1k, buy this instead. The programs out there, such as Krita take away windows' edge over this tablet. This is technology for beginners as well as for graphic design masters. Paired with the Krita program, this is a wonderful product that surpasses any Windows option or any other option for that matter. Bravo to Huion for its customer-centered philosophy. Read full review

Great beginner alternative to Wacom but no way.....
You get what you pay for, clearly. The sensitivity is finicky, inaccurate and misleading. I would never recommend this to a professional. For an amateur that wants to try a tablet as a novelty sure but not for quality work, no way. The stylus is so light and cheap feeling that it lends itself to a lack of feeling and connection to the hand. There is a double clicking and selection effect that occurs without warning. If you have done some controlled, time consuming selecting, beware of the quick random selecting and deselecting. The connection between the tablet and the stylus seems to have good palm rejection and decent sensitivity.
I am sorry because I do not like bad mouthing products or people but this needs to only be considered as a low budget product only. If it is what can be afforded, then buy it, otherwise do the research and try some alternatives. Wacom is expensive, way over priced but it feels and acts as quality should....
I hope this review is helpful to some.Read full review

WELCOMED WRIST RELIEF - AWESOME TABLET
I recently watched some YouTube ‘tablet’ videos and decided to buy the HUION WH1409 tablet for our studio. I owned a brand name one years ago and missed it. Also, we needed a PHOTO-EDITING tool to speed up post processing considerably. This tablet does just that.
After using mice & trackballs for years, it was time to try a tablet again. With BRAND names costing way more than needed, I opted for the HUGE HUION WH1409 tablet. I'm glad I did. The surface is smooth and slick, with a matte texture, giving it the feel of fine art paper, yet allowing quick movements from edge-to-edge without drag. The pen is wireless, using a rechargeable hearing-aid size battery, it’s very light, similar to a plastic mechanical pencil, which we all love. No one wants to hold onto a lead weight for hours at a time. No one complained of lag time between the press of the pen tip and any movements using CS6 or LR6.13. This is extremely useful when using the magnetic lasso tool around eyes and irises, or any other precision editing tool for that matter.
Ever try to draw a perfect circle with a mouse? Trackball? What about your signature? Yeah, it’s impossible. With the WH1409 tablet, MICRO points can be drawn with near perfect circular accuracy in no time at all, and a real signature, well, it’s a pen, right? Using a mouse/trackball, for "FINE ART" enlargement edits used to take up to 4 hours to complete. The tablet cuts that time by as much as 88%. I can zoom to 400% around an eye, the nose, lips, lashes, etc. and make corrections in seconds, not minutes to hours, return the image to its 1:1 size and the edits aren't visible.
We use 27” dual monitor setups: one set to portrait, one to landscape. This tablet allows us to access either one with a simple 'click' of the pen's rocker button, which can be set to nearly any command. I can sit at my computer for up to 22 hrs, non-stop (except for coffee – the elixir of life), when we’re not setting up or shooting on location. With the tablet I no longer have wrist pains when I stop editing. Others have used it, pain free, for hours as well. Putting it bluntly, since the HUION WH1409 tablet & pen were ‘plugged in’ neither has been turned off. The WH1409 gets its break when we’re all sleeping and not working. It’s the only time it isn’t being used.
With the HUION WH1409 tablet now in use, endless smiles surrounded the con-fab table. Everyone wants to use it. Perhaps, Santa will give us more! The trackballs and mice are gone now. We do everything with the tablet which allows us to adjust how far the pen moves from left-to-right, top-to-bottom, to reach the edges on the monitor screens.
Unlike other reviews, we conclude this tablet is strong, sturdy, easy to operate and a pleasure to use. Some reviewers claim the tablet is “cheap” and “flimsy,” because it isn’t all metal or a metal-plastic combination. WE DISAGREE. Such opinions are closer to “WHINING” than about material quality.
All-in-all, the HUION WH1409 tablet is absolutely awesome! Everyone in the studio agrees, this tablet is a superior buy for anyone wanting or needing one for their photography editing solutions: pro level or not. Even novices using this tablet, can produce high-quality results for family, friends and co-workers, quickly and easily.
One possible con for the tablet (not for us): REAL ESTATE: This bad boy needs space. Measuring nearly 18” wide and 12” front-to-back a small desk or kitchen table “AIN’T GONNA WORK!” Try a smaller HUION tablet or get a bigger desk! It comes with a Lycra-type two-finger glove. Use it as skin oils and sweat are clearly not cool for any electronic device. I added a cotton stretch-tube about 8” long to cover my wrist and part of my forearm, just to prevent sweating on it. Keeping the surface clean and clear will help you edit images all day, all night. Any future changes/updates, we’ll let you know. Until then ----->>> Keep SHOOTING!
Two sample edits provided. Both completed in less than 40 minutes.Read full review

Works great but has a few small issues, I would still recommend it though.
I've had this tablet for at least over a month or two and I must say I am quite pleased with it. While the tablet set up was a little confusing for me, seeing as I didn't realize the thumb drive with instructions and the tech to connect the tablet to the computer and had trouble with configuring the tablet for a bit, once i got it up and running its worked fantastically! If you are getting this for someone in your family who is younger and not technologically savvy i would suggest helping them with setting up the tablet. From there however it's a breeze. The instructions are a bit confusing as English is not the first language, but they make up for it by being pretty straight forward. One thing that baffled me for the longest time after using a bamboo is that this tablet will encompass the entire screen, and shoot the curser over to a different spot if you move the pen to another spot after lifting it off of the tablet far enough that the sensor stops picking it up. I am sure that this would be easier for someone other than myself to pick up on as I have a learning disability, but if I can do it pretty much anyone who understands basic computer stuff can get it up and running. It won't fit in a laptop bag obviously which kind of irked me for a bit as I can't travel with it currently without taking it in it's box. It's lightweight, affordable all things considered, hasn't broken down on me yet, the pressure sensitivity and responses are great. All in all, I would highly recommend but it does have it's issues.Read full review

Works great on Linux too
Works perfectly, is very easy to handle, and feels natural to use. The glove and stylus-holder are very functional too. The drivers for this are included in the Linux kernel, so it should work out of the box on any up-to-date Linux distribution (verified on Mint/Ubuntu and Arch), no installations required. However, the tablet configuration utilities for Xfce and Cinnamon desktop environments are unable to register it, so the settings can't be changed from the defaults with them.Read full review

Best tablet for beginners (highly recommend)
Tablet is great and I strongly recommend this to any artist. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:Tablet is a great size, has a nice a natural feel to it while drawing, has 12 express buttons, battery life is very good, pen is rechargeable, very light and portible, you can change the pressure sensitivity on settings.
Cons: Tablet gets smudges easily, the usb receiver gets a bit warm when using the tablet wirelessly.
Overall, this tablet is awesome and I feel like I am getting more than what I paid for.

WH1409 Giano Graphics Tablet review
So far I am very satisfied with this product. Nice size real estate. The shortcut keys are awesome!
makes the workflow so much easier. The pen sensitivity I would give 8 out of 10 in Photoshop Windows 7 pro 64 bit. Love the sleek flat black design. The only problem I seem to be having at the moment, is the wireless dongle after inserted in the usb port(3.0), when trying to safely disconnect it, via from task bar, it does not respond. And it keeps my computer from shutting down. I have to manually shut down. Still working on a fix. Read full review

Great Tablet
I have been using a Large Wacom Intuos tablet for over a decade and when I first looked for one for my personal use I was shocked how expensive they were. This tablet is every bit an equal in quality and dependability! Even in wireless mode it is very accurate and responsive. There are few subtle differences between the Huron and the Wacom. Mostly with the pen, the Huron has a battery in the pen that requires charging and because of the connection does not have an eraser on the one end but it is not a big deal. The 12 programmable buttons definitely help improve productivity and the touch and feel are fine. This is a big tablet, no bigger than others with the same drawing area. Be prepared to use a lot of arm movement. If you are a first-time user you might want to start with a smaller, 8x6 inch tablet. On a scale of 1-10 I would give this tablet 9.5 only because of the pen needing charging but you can use it for quite a while before it needs a charge. If you don’t want to charge the pen Huron does make this model without a rechargeable pen for about $50 more but it is hard to justify a 30% increase in price for just that. So if you want a quality tablet that has a reliable, easy to use interface I would suggest this tablet.Read full review
