I have an old Gateway sx2865 slim desktop and it woild freeze up opening some pdf's. I upgrade the ram to 8gb and still couldn't handle it. I noticed it was the small G540 processor. I looked up my mother board and it was the Acer H61H2-AD. It will only take processors with LGA115 socket up to 65w, so this one was perfect. Now my computer only consumes up to 30% of the ram and the processor barely run at 50%. I used the stock heatsink and fan and the processor tempurature stays between 55 and 60 degrees C even while using AutoCad LT. I do have a separate video card. Radeon 5450 512mb.
