Easy Install with great operation!
Received the used part in protective packaging, was easy install, updated drivers installed on start-up and unit runs extremely well. I believe it will run as long a new part and as reliably. I have been using "used parts" to build new computers for over 25 years and know if they have been taken care of they will last a long time. This one was well taken care of and tests to specifications.Read full review

Great Option for upgrading an old PC to use as a network server.
The Intel Pressler/900 series Pentium D processors are based on the Cedar Mill / Netburst architecture, 65nm die process. This is a relatively low thermal 95W TDP and provides 2MB of L2 cache per core, unlike the 800 series Smithfield Pentium D witch has 1 MB cache per core. Netburst is very sensitive to caching, the more, the better. This chip will provide modern low/midrange smartphone level performance, which is adequate for today's media-rich internet. I'm using this in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Cent OS learning setup, and so far so good. Very economical option in a Dell GX620 for learning how to setup/configure and secure network servers.Read full review

alot faster than my Pentium 4
its a lot faster and easy to install but it kept my fans running at full speed all the time ,was way too noisy for me other than that it was great very reasonable in price overall i'm happy with it.

Brought a 14-year-old PC up to date!
My 14-year-old Dell Dimension E520 had a 1.8GHz processor and after researching which CPUs could be used to upgrade, I bought this one used, and installed it in less than 5 minutes. Make sure you also get thermal paste before installing, and get ready to enjoy using a fast computer!Read full review

Good stuff to keep an older box going!
Private school I help has a bunch of old OptiPlex GX620 desktops, with old Pentium 4 CPU, which is capable of Windows 7 ( slowly ) just not Windows 10 ( missing a couple key Instruction Sets ). Did some research, found that these Pentium D will work with the default aluminum heatsink from these units ( 95W CPU ), and runs Windows 10 very nicely, once we upgraded the RAM as well. Good stuff! Runs a bit hotter than the original Pentium 4, which was expected, but nothing out of the ordinary and no heat related issues either.Read full review

Pentium CPU
The pentium CPU worked as planned. I had an old motherboard in need of more speed. The Pentium has a dual core and a faster front side bus than the old chip. It greatly improved the performance of the old board. than,k you.Read full review

Consistent runner
I installed this on an Intel D945GNT motherboard with 4GB RAM and installed Linux Mint x64 17.3 Cinnamon. This was for a super low-budget Internet machine. Runs very smoothly! I'm very happy with it so far. I can stream video and perform system updates simultaneously. I have it cooled with a P4 HSF and it never overheats. These are power hungry, so eventually I'll replace the system with a Raspberry Pi likely 😎Read full review

A good upgrade for those old 775 boards.
I have an old Intel 775 board, I found out that it only supports older single or dual core chips. Ihis was the fastest chip I could find for the board. While the spec doesn't seem much better over the 2.8Ghz chip I originally had, it seems much zippier than I expected. I use the computer under Ubuntu mainly for internet and watching videos.Read full review

Great multipurpose CPU for an older computer
I upgraded my old 2005 model Dell Dimension E510 from the 2.8GHz Pentium D to this 3.4Ghz version. The extra .6 doesn't sound like much, but combined with the additional cache it made a huge difference. Combined with maxed out RAM, a decent video card, a SSD, and Linux this baby cruises again like an old classic car.Read full review
