Maybe discourages, or not, but can't hurt
Looks real enough BUT, could be bigger to look "realer". The addition of a short flashing white LED (like it was taking a pic) would help with the realism more than does the circle of red LED's which are on all the time. I ran a wire from mine, which is on the porch, over to a hole drilled in a trim board for perhaps a bit more realism. A lot of package theft going on around here but for us, so far, so good- maybe this is really helping!Read full review

You get what you pay for...
These dummy cameras are just o.k. They're only meant for indoor use in my honest opinion. They only look convincing if a criminal saw them on the inside of a house. If you were to walk up and examine them closely, no one would be fooled. They probably could be used on a high location outside out of reach where criminals couldn't get close to them but I wouldn't risk it. The "IR" light effect is a nice touch and it'll save on battery power. The lights only come on in the dark and go back off in the day time. These cameras are acceptable but I'm sure there are better ones on the market.Read full review

rugged yet cheap price
It is rugged for any weather condition for 15.00 dollars. You have to be careful not to break off the tabs
that lock into the slots when you turn and lock the camera into the slots. Both of them look very real, the

Decent dummy camera
Came with mounting template, screws/anchors, and foam stick pad. The infrared leds come on automatically in the dark. Looks real for non-professional criminals. Would even work as a deterrent even if the batteries were not installed.
