Old motorcycle tank clean up
Tried cleaning the surface rust from the inside of an old motorcycle tank with other products specifically designed for this purpose, an even vinegar. Good for light surface rust only
My Hayabusa fuel tank had a lot of rust inside it, especially around the filler neck. Unfortunately, the rust remover was only partially effective, and the rust around the filler neck was the same. It is ineffective on heavy rust period. In the end I used Metal Restore which worked perfectly.Read full review

Great Product for Best Results
I have used KBS Motorcycle Fuel Tank Sealer Repair Kits twice, each on a Kawasaki ZZR 600 and 1100 fuel tanks, I recommend this product, as long as you follow the instructions, you will get a great result, the inside of the tank, will be a shiny silver steel and it will then be protected by the clear lacquer finish. Excellent - for some tanks.
This product seemed to seal the surface quite well. I would use it again if I was doing a simple old style metal motorbike tank. I would not use it again for a complex shape modern baffled tank. Complex shapes and baffles make it almost impossible to get full coverage to all internal surfaces. Lockable petrol caps and threads for fuel pumps etc all need to have protection or removal. All in all it seems like a good product if you have a tank that suits its application. I have only had it in the tank a short time and cannot comment on its longevity.Read full review

Ducati monster tank repair
Not enough of the sealing ingredients for this Ducati tank, supposedly 19 litres and the kit is for "up to 20 litre tank" the thick resin drains into narrow parts(sidewall to underside) and doesn't return in a quantity adequate to slosh around rest of tank, the cleaning ingredient and the "de-ruster" or converter seemed to activate. KBS Motorcycle Tank Sealer Kit
The product worked as specified in terms of application. While I have not had petrol in the tank yet for any lenght of time. I recommend the larger 500ml sealant is used for a 20l motorcycle tank. While the 250ml may work and cover the surfaces of a simple shaped tank, it did not and will struggle to have enought volume to "run over" all high spots/ crevases of a motorcycle tank.Read full review
