Good, but could have been great !

The series was entertaining but it could have been much better. At times, the lead character sees and hears people no one else does. There are also weird scenes where devices leave and enter bodies etc. This could have been an outstanding series on the time travel theme. but the lead character behaves irrationally at times, even when he is not seeing or hearing things. A few of the episodes that don't have these drawbacks are outstanding. It is a nice period piece on the 1970's.Read full review

Not your run of the mill cop show...

A cop in 2008 gets hit by a car and wakes up in 1973. How did he get there? Is he dreaming? What is reality, 1973, or 2008? I love how this series is perfectly contained in one season. The characters are great; the setting, 1973 NYC, is the city I grew up in. I won't put any spoilers here. You just have to see for yourself. If you like a good mystery, and you're curious about a cop show with historical undertones, (is that a thing?) you should give this a try!Read full review

Excellent, a must watch for those who remember the 70's

Good Quality, action packed and well filmed.
They did a good job on creating the proper atmosphere for the period, very intertaining.
The discs come in a decent case with a cardboard slipcover, play well and easy to navigate.
Only downside is there is no option to go directly to main menu and watch the shows, you must watch ABC's stupid commercials when you first put it in the player.Read full review

Brilliant writing!

This is one of those tv series that was really different from anything else out there then and now. Creative writing, great casting, 70's fashions and a killer soundtrack, make Life on Mars an A+ stand alone series. I highly recommend it. Read full review

One of the best shows out there

Not really a comedy as I see it listed sometimes, I'd say a drama with some poignant humor. Great acting and wonderful story arc. The only let down is that there is an unaired pilot that was filmed before any of the 'real' episodes were filmed, and its not on this dvd set. (you can find unaired pilot on YouTube ).

Not THE DEUCE! 1973, with humanity
