I bought this to save money by cutting/slicing my own foods.
I make my own bread and this enables me to have lovely thin sliced bread
I buy my ham and cheese uncut/shaved/shredded and this enables me to slice/shave my own ham and cheese.

Food slicer

It should come with the non serrated blade to start with & not have to buy it after you realise it doesn't have one. The thickness adjuster does not stay in position you set it at as soon as there is any pressure from the food placed on the carriage. Have to physically hold it in place. Not very safe. Better than just a knife

Passable job considering low price point. We bought this to try slicing our our prosciutto and to see if we'd like to buy something decent in the future. The 200w motor is not ideal for the job but you can get a decent amount sliced in the 10mins of operating time as advised. We weren't expecting much considering the low price point so we weren't really disappointed. With a light hand and a bit of finesse you can get a pretty decently fine slice of prosciutto, it'd probably do a nice job with ham (softer) or salami (smaller). There's quite a lot of play in the sliding mechanism and it's nearly impossible to keep the machine in one place during operation on its own, so we placed a cutting board behind to brace it against the wall while gently pushing into each slice and that fixed most of the instability. We'll buy a flat blade to replace the serated one supplied and that might help a bit too. Worth it for the newbie, but that's probably it.Read full review

am a bit disapointed with the product it is a bit flimsy in where the slide attach's to the machine it keeps falling off and it seems like it is a left handed slicer and not at all comfortable to use also my previous one had a safety cut off and this one doesn't

After only a few slices enough material collected behind blade to over load motor and smoke came out.
