Top of the line for me

good weight and after thinking it was too short in my hand I now find it actually easier to control. Try it you will like it. I have not had it long enough to try different blades, but the merkur blade enclosed was more than excellent. As cheap as I am I might be willing to spend the extra on the merkur blades. More than happy with my purchase.Read full review

Among the Best

I have only used a Gillette 1977 Black Beauty and this Merkur. I prefer the Merkur. It’s not as aggressive as the Gillette even though the Gillette is adjustable. I wish I had bought the long handle though because I have large hands and the Merkur ‘s weight is becoming uncomfortable in my fingers.Read full review

Stalwart

Most popular safety razor for good reason. I pair it with Feather or Shark blades with my coarse hairs. Others like Astra and Wilkinson seem to tug and nick me. Maybe that’s just my technique or lack there of, but I’m going with what works best with my Merkur 34c. I’ve had a Viking Chieftain Jr and this feels much more solid. Happy shaving!Read full review

A great razor for (some) beginners

The quality of the razor is impeccable (when coupled with premium blade), but I found it too gentle even for a beginner. This razor may suit a person with a really gentle skin, but after several attempts I chose to switch to a more aggressive razor. The handle is chunky and a pleasure to hold.Read full review

Very good easy to use quality razor

Very well made. Fairly mild shave in my opinion. Very comfortable but gets the job done without too much effort.

Fantastic

I own many DE razors vintage and old open comb, straight bar, slants and adjustable. The Rex Ambassador is a very efficient, well made handsome razor. Is pricey and can buy other more reasonable if you can afford one give it a run.Read full review

Great razor

The 34c is a great two piece razor with good weight that provides a extremely close cut, however, I prefer the 33c though it’s a three piece because the slightly lighter weight makes it more agile. Both models are excellent.Read full review

Great safety razor

Looked on internet and rated as one of the top safety razors. I thought I’d try. Nice small but easy to handle. I like it very much. I understand why it was highly recommended.

Merkur 34C

Good razor, high quality. The Merkur blade was not sharp and pulled when shaving. Replaced it with a Gillette and it smoothed out. However, I still prefer my old 50's era Gillette Fat Boy, which I've been using for many years, for the best shave. New is nice, but not always better.Read full review

Still the best razor

I’ve bought many (Rex, Rockwell, Feather, etc). This is still the closest shave with no irritation I can find. So after spending 1000 dollars only to return to my original purchase seems funny. You can call this the “honda accord” or “Toyota Camry” of razors. Read full review
