I LOVE this keyboard!

I've used this keyboard since it first came out, maybe 15 years ago. After the intial (small) learning curve of getting used to this non standard keybard, I was able to type a lot faster and has eliminated pain in my hands and writs while typing. I LOVE this keyboard!Read full review

It looks neat on my desk, but......

It looks neat on my desk. It is comfortable to use. But I spend 8 hours or more per day at the computer and it feels flimsy, like a low end keyboard in quality. I could be wrong, but after a few days, the space bar feels like it is loosening up. The keys are very noisy and it is hard to speed type. I think it would be fine for someone who has less heavy usage. It was plug and play so there is no setup required. It takes up an amazingly large amount of your desk space, more than you might expect. I experienced no wrist fatigue while using it for long periods of time. All things considered, I will probably replace it with a more solid business unit so I can type fast again. It was very inexpensive so I give it bonus points for that.Read full review

Good price for a functioning used keyboard

Price was better than what others were asking for. I love this model of keyboard and spent lots of time looking for a used/refurbished one. The keyboard was mostly as described - the original support that comes with it was missing/broken off, but that's not hugely important. It was also a little dusty and there was a smudge that was hard to remove from the wrist rest, but all the keys work and it's in good shape otherwise. Shipping was fast. Read full review

Try it, you'll like it!

Replaced an identical keyboard. Just what I was looking for. The key action is much more crisp than the one I wore out. You can type without having to snug your wrists together. It's amazing all keyboards are not built this way. How did I ever learn to type on a regular keyboard? Now, when I use my laptop, it feels so unnatural. If you have never tried an ergonomic keyboard, you owe it to yourself to do so. Takes a day or two to get use to but after that, you never want to go back. Read full review

Great keyboard with one big caveat.

This is a great keyboard -- if you get one that actually works. Too many of them have broken or malfunctioning keys. I work all day on one that is 100% functional and after a short adjustment period wont go back to a flat keyboard again. I like the hot keys and use them frequently, again a bit of an adjustment after using the mouse exclusively for years, but can be a real time saver if you are able to change your workflow. Also, this has an attachable front riser that cants the keyboard forward for a much more natural hand posture - my wrists used to hurt major at the end of the day until I started using the canted keyboard, now they only hurt a little, if at all. The hand rests at the front are soft, but not too soft, are easy cleaning and don't get slippery.
With the caveat of making sure it is 100% functional, this is an excellent keyboard and highly recommended.

Great keyboard.

This is a great keyboard, I've bought the same board several times over the years, very easy on the fingers, helps keep the hands from being scrunched up when keying in data. Nice extra functions. For the price you can't go wrong.

A great keyboard; just wish it didn't fail after a year's use.

A wonderful keyboard, BUT... it only lasts for about a year. After a year's use, suddenly the chips fail and the keyboard is useless. I know this because I've been using the 4000 for many years now and about a year after buying and installing the new 4000, it just quits working. Built-in-obsolescence ?????Read full review

Very comfortable to type with

This is my second one of these (left the 1st one to the person who took over when I retired) and I forgot how great it was to use. Much more comfortable than a standard straight on keyboard and I'll never use another type of keyboard in the future. Again, It took me about 2 days to get used to using this kind of keyboard, just like last time, but no problems after that. I got the wired version as I have a desk top now, although it comes in wireless if you want to use with your laptop. Great price, quick delivery and a dream to install if you have Windows operating system. Don't miss a great buy.Read full review

Natural 4000, none better.

This is probably my fourth or fifth one I have purchases. I even bought one to use at work (employer would only supply other keyboards that I just couldn't use). Of all the split ergonomic keyboards I have tried out, the Microsoft Natural 4000 far out performs the others, even the new Microsoft keyboard 1000, which I did buy, but returned it the very next day. It just kills me that Microsoft has decided to stop making this keyboard. This was the most I have ever paid for one, but well worth the price.Read full review

Good design, bad keyswitches

The layout of the keys in 3 dimensions was pretty well thought-out, and it's important that it has the arrow keys in the more-ergonomic 2-row configuration than in the common 1/2/1 layout. The 6 key is on the left, as it should be, instead of on the right, where some ergo keyboards put it. The function-lock is on by default (it wasn't in some earlier Microsoft keyboards). But the keyswitches have a lot of resistance, even for a membrane keyswitch, and sometimes don't register.Read full review
