Microsoft - Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000

Microsoft got it right the first time when they created this ergonomic keyboard. I have used these keyboards for the past ten (10) years and they are wonderful! If I use straight keyboards, my wrists begin to hurt, I do not use the height or lift attachments and find being flat gives the best feel. My wrist pain goes away after using the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard!!! I have used other brands, but they still make my wrists hurt and sometimes my fingers (the other brands have a very awkward feel to them. The Microsoft ergonomic keyboard is easy to get used to)!!!Read full review

Great Keyboard with lots of features

Purchased the Microsoft keyboard to replace my old Microsoft keyboard that died after 7 years use. The ergonomic design make long term use compared to standard flat surface keyboards. I did not care for the plastic elevation on the front side. I don't know who could become use to the odd keyboard position.Read full review

The King of Ergonomic Keyboards

They literally don't make these anymore. I bought the newer version. The keys feel cheaper, the macro buttons have been shifted to the left, the action of the keys isn't as good, and it's harder to touch-type on the newer model. This model is practically perfect. The action of the keys is light without being flimsy, I can type all day long without looking at my keyboard, and locating the macro keys in the middle makes for quick and easy access without looking down. Sensible ergonomics but repair-unfriendly.

If writing is a large part of your profession or if you are a programmer you definitely owe it to yourself to give an ergonomic keyboard a shot if you haven´t already. I find it to be Space consuming. Great keyboard features that will help you reduce mouse work but Somewhat loud and clunky spacebar, Flimsy front stand, Narrow enter key makes it a tough recommendation.Read full review

It is a good keyboard.

I really like this keyboard. Especially the volume control/mute buttons. My only annoyance is the space bar. It requires more effort than most keyboards. This has been a problem since the first models.
That having been said, it does seem to be helping my carpal tunnel issue.

Most Comfortable Keyboard EVER

This new keyboard actually replaces my 2012 version of the same keyboard - which still works great, but the letters and numbers are somewhat worn off with all the typing I've done! My husband needs to be able to see letters on the keys. OOPS. The ONLY drawback I've seen to this keyboard is the size - which is not a problem for me, as I have plenty of room. If there is only a small place to put a keyboard, this big ergonomic might not fit. It is absolutely wonderful for the hands, and incredibly comfortable to use. I've saved my old one to hook up to my laptop, as I can hardly type on a small, straight keyboard anymore. Buy one of these; you'll LOVE it!Read full review

Great for my wrists!

Takes a little rime to get used to, but I have been through 3 of these keyboards and I will never buy another one. Very comfortable and eases my carpal tunnel pain! Highly recommend to those who type daily. Read full review

Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 - USB

This keyboard was a replacement for an older MS ergonomic Keyboard. The older keyboard had a different connection that wasn't compatible with my new computer. With the USB connection my MS Windows program found it quickly and I was able to use it immediately. This keyboard is black in color and replaced one that was light grey. In dim light it is difficult for me to locate the proper keys quickly where as the light colored keyboard the letters showed up easier in dim light.

Other than being more difficult to locate keys in dim light, the new keyboard feels and types every bit as well as the one I had used over the past 12 years. In order for me to use this keyboard at night and not turn on the large desk lamp I've ordered a small clip on USB light to shine on the keyboard. During daylight and normal times for most writers, this keyboard is great. And, did I mention that the price I paid was much less than was quoted by the "big box" stores. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I type better now.

I learned to type in highscool - somewhat. Since then (about 40 yrs ago) I have been a functioning typist. I am surprised how much better I am typing (even improving). The split board forces me to place my fingers in the proper place -- thus I find myself using the correct fingers on the correct keys. My wife is happy for me.
.....Having said that, my wife is an expert typist and doesn't really care to use it herself.

Great Item!

The keyboard was a great investment. I can type comfortably and the shortcut keys are very useful! The only issue is that the hardware did not come with instructions. You have to find it online.
