Bought it for the lens...
I bought this camera for the lens. I needed a long lens and couldn't pay the price for a new one. It turns out I made a good decision on this one. The body is great, it has all the features I need in a camera. The lens feels a bit "plasticy" but the focus ring, the extension ring, and the aperture ring all function well. I have a feeling that I will have to be very careful with or it would be easily broken. But it takes great photographs. That is what I need it for, so I am very happy with this purchase.Read full review

Misleading Sale
Came across my original Minolta at a Goodwill a few years ago, but sadly the auto-rewind was loose and fell off so I opted to replace the body and keep my lens and flash since they were in fine condition. This camera works, except for the auto-focus! Says in the sale that it was in working condition. I already have a Contax for entirely manual settings, wasn't interested in a Minolta that I couldn't just bring along to pass around with my friends for fun stuff. Pretty disappointed.Read full review

Very nice camera for the price
I have owned a number of Minolta SLRs over the years, but I never had a chance to try one of the Maxxums -- the very first full-auto (exposure and focus) SLRs. I was pleasantly surprised, but with one reservation. The quality is outstanding. Minolta had an excellent reputation for making some of the best, toughest, SLRs, from the SRT-101, to the X-700. The lens, although f4.5, is sharp and clear. Using relatively low-quality color film (Kodak Ultramax), the color fidelty is spot-on (I can't say the same about Rikenon zoom that I have on my Ricoh). The auto-exposure performed brilliantly, and it is a real pleasure to have the auto-advance and auto-wind function built into the camera. It runs on four easily-obtained AA batteries, so you don't have to mess with button cells. There's a lot to like about this camera. My only reservation is, after 30 years, the auto-focus doesn't always work. That's not a HUGE problem, since it's easy to switch over to manual focus, and I prefer manual anyway. But it is a little disappointing. Still, it's a great camera to get into film photography.Read full review

Minolta 7000 35mm camera
My original 7000 I purchased several decades ago (about 1982) but the dust a few years ago. I kept it in a box and just it noted it until recently. I went ahead and purchased it and after cleaning it up I took some pics using colored film and it worked! Very satisfied.

Overall happy with the product
The camera is in good shape and works quite nicely when it did get to me it had the white build up around the battery compartment not a huge issue as I was just able to clean it off the only thing that bugs me is the lens I got with it does not autofocus all the way seeming to have resistance in the lens and my range of 35-80 only goes to 50 on the dial but I'm assuming it just isn't lined up right. All in all though happy.Read full review

All functions work as intended!
I️ haven’t had the chance to film test the camera, but all functions appear to be working. I’m particularly impressed with how well the manual focus works through the viewfinder, and can’t wait to see if the images show up as clean as I️ expect them to. The lens appears to be in amazing condition, even better than the camera, and I️ really appreciate the seller including a manual. The flash is also in great working condition, and fires in sync with the shutter. I probably won’t be using the original bag or strap, just because of the limited space for accessories, but those are in good condition as well.Read full review

Camera arrived very quickly and works great!
When I first opened the camera I was sad to put batteries in and see that it didn't kick on. However, it's from 1985 so I didn't mind giving the battery compartment a good alcohol bath. Once I did that the camera turned on immediately and works like a dream. The lenses are exactly as described and I can't wait to start testing them out!Read full review

Looked great. Didn't work at all. Had pieces falling out. Wasn't worth the hassle to return. Not a very good 1st experience with e-ba
