Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 Wi-Fi USB Adapter

Best wireless adapter you can buy!

For those of you doing over wireless file transfers and or online gaming, this is the card to get. I do large amounts of over wireless/network file transfers back and forth to my file server and I used to have a TP-Link T9UH AC1900 adapter but that did not have MIMO and I was only getting about 35mbps for file transfers. With this new Nighthawk wireless adapter I am getting 100mbps file transfers over wireless! That's a huge difference! And it's all because of the 3x4 MIMO that the Nighthawk A7000 has. BE AWARE, your router also has to support MIMO or you won't get the faster transfer speeds, I have a Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200 router so it has the MIMO (Single User or SU not Multiuser or MU which is the next gen AC). works great so far -one thing to keep in mind before purchase:

I get a great, high-speed WiFi connection with this so far. One thing to keep in mind before you purchase it is that, if you don't have a CD drive on your computer, you will have to download the driver for the NightGear, which means you will either have to temporarily have an internet connection to your computer through another WiFi device or you will need to download the driver onto another computer or something and transfer the driver to your computer so you can finish setting up the NightGear. I found this to be a little annoying, but it worked out fine in the end. They send you instruction for different ways to make sure it gets set up.Read full review

Excellent Wi-Fi performane! Maxium through-put speeds.

I have been using one of these Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 Wi-Fi USB adapters already and have been completely impressed with how well it works. The through-put is excellent, with the connection between my ATT FIOS router and the adapter usually running at 800+ to 900+ Mbps anywhere in my home. This particular purchase was for a gift for my oldest niece to use in her home. She actually has the Netgear router that matches this adapter and they work together every bit as solidly as my home setup does. She does have an earlier version of this router that she uses for another laptop she has, and it's been working very well for a long time. I had updated both of her laptops to Windows 10, and these adapters were immediately recognized by the OS and worked perfectly. Big Improvement in Througput

Good build quality and hefty base and antenna compared to my earliler A6210. More importantly it is providing a much higher througput (about double). It did take a few hours to see the increase but normal for MIMO type adapter.Read full review

Simple and Effective High Speed Wi-Fi Option

Great adapter, terrible software...

Although it was larger than I expected, the hardware seems excellent, so far (only been using it 1 day). Like others, I had a very hard time setting up this adapter. The software is atrocious. Some we're able to just plug in the adapter and Windows did the rest, but I wasn't one of those lucky ones.

The adapter is super fast and I haven't had any connectivity issues yet (only been using it for 1 day), but if you can't get it installed you'll never know.

Easy to set up and get connected. Works great at a distance from the other side of my house even with 5ghz. Better than I thought

I have a cheap internet service for working and gaming, I have a 30mbps internet plan and without the nighthawk I only get 19-26mbps, when I plug in the nighthawk and connect to the network, I get on average 35mbps to 50mbps. Don't know how it manages to surpass my 30mbps plan, but I am grateful that I bought this piece at such a low price. Best thing I've ever invested my money in. Read full review

getting better WiFi speeds with the A7000 but having issues w/ it connecting to USB 3.0 port. Tried everything but it is only connecting at USB 2.0.
