Neumann Ndh20 Closed-back Studio Headphones

Wonderful closed-back cans worth keeping and recommending. To my ears the NDH 20 sound and detail falls halfway between comparing the Beyerdynamics DT1990s using balanced vs analytic pads. The balanced 1990 pads can provide more energy for listening alone, but I prefer the 1990s analytic pads for mixing / mastering, with no sacrifice whatever to detail or low end. Example: the Neumanns offer a bit more energy than the 1990 analytics for classic piano which I use for composing. The NDH 20 is not exactly lightweight but is not uncomfortable and other reviews suggest the pads will soften somewhat with more use and extended break-in. The Neumann build is superior, beautiful in my opinion, with a jewelry factor and logo hard to beat. I was somewhat annoyed by the right side wire until I realized it works with perfect convenience for the headphone output on my Presonus mixer. Top notch quality headphones with excellent response for mixing and mastering.

Sound quality is right up there with my BT 1770 headphones but slightly more comfortable to wear. I use Sound ID Reference software to get a flat response when mixing and mastering.
