Excellent quality
The Nikon D3300 body by it itself is a master piece. I'm generally leery of too many features in one device as in movie lenses for an SLR, but in this case, it works. The extras make the kit look good, but the tripod is incredibly cheap quality. The slave flash is nice for killing shadows behind portraits and was a necessary addition. The only thing that the kit lacks to be complete is a 70-300mm zoom lens. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.Read full review

Great for beginners
It's been years since I was in the SLR game, so coming back to photography when everything is digital was scary. The D3300 is so incredibly easy to use. Once I figured out what all the buttons did it's been like cake using it. I keep it in Manual mode all the time, because I'm familiar with how to adjust aperture or ISO to get the best result, but I played around with the other presets and they work great too. The kit lens that comes with the camera is decent. Nothing to brag about. I got a telephoto and macro lens to use, and I use those primarily. The clarity of pictures is insane with 24.2 megapixels. I like the in-camera retouching too. Overall very satisfied with my purchase.Read full review

I used to be a professional photographer back in the days of film. My husband got me this package for Christmas.
