Nikon D7200 is a capable APS-C camera body with adult-sized dimensions.
The Nikon D7200 is a capable APS-C camera body with adult-sized dimensions and semi-pro capabilities. It is a little too expensive for me to give it a 5 star review, but otherwise meets my expectations properly.
What I mean is that the D7200 is high priced, but large in physical dimensions, compared to the consumer entry level Nikon DSLR models of the D3000 series and D5000 series. I find the smaller Nikon and Canon models, and most mirrorless models from Sony, Olympus, Fuji, etc to be too cramped for my hands or too nose-heavy when a big lens is attached to a tiny body.
I sold my D7000 Nikon about two years ago, and find this D7200 to be very similar (with the expected upgrades of newer engineering). If you don't need the exact specs that this model brings compared to the D7000 or D7100, you might save money and buy one of those without much loss of performance. Read the detailed reviews you'll find all over the internet. DP Reviews is great start for enthusiastic comparison shoppers.
The D7200 has ample size and weight to fit adult hands and to balance with heavier pro-quality lenses attached. It has the higher auto focus capabilities, burst speed, and expected control dials and buttons to match the semi-pro price. It may make a good backup for some serious amateurs or pros who cant justify the higher price point of pro Nikon bodies like the APS-C (DX) D500 or any of the various expensive full frame (FX) Nikon bodies.
A final note: I purchased a Nikon USA Refurbished product in a plain white box. I've consistently found the Nikon Refurbs to always arrive in like new condition and I've never had less quality or shorter life than the original, new-in-box product sold at retail dealers. Worried? You can pay to extend the warranty to match the retail model.Read full review

Best of all worlds and a ton of megapixels.
I've had this version since the d7000 and its been getting better. I dropped my 7100 and it didn't make it. I loved it. I have my old 300s and it is awesome still. but I sat down and really looked at what I do with my photos. 1200 bucks is a lot. so i found a 7200 body only online. i don't think the new 7500 is as good as the 7200 (always a personal opinion......). you sacrifice megapixels for shutter speed. some people want that. I take a lot of Macro and a good user-friendly camera with dual memory slots higher MP and no low pass filter on the sensor gives me awesome results
I am Justuff on Flickr. my general lens is a 100mm and for shots on the road with a zoom my 18-200 has been around.Read full review

Exceptional Pro-Am camera
I've owned the D7000 for almost 7 years and this D7200 replaces that as my backup body to my D810.. The DX format is in effect a 1.5x multiplier for FX lens. This use of FX lens is not recommended by Pros due to image loss but the D7200 offers high quality images (especially in the RAW mode) that makes this a solid backup body in case of an emergency. The D500 is a better FX alternative as a backup body but it's also a lot more expensive than a good used .D7200.Read full review

Smaller case with many many features!
I'm upgrading from a D200 which I loved...until I saw the pictures from this camera. It's similar to the D200 in many ways but there are lots of new features to learn. From a semi-pro's standpoint, this is a great camera. i saw no reason to pay extra for the 7500 which has the same sensor and one less card slot.Read full review

Elated!
I absolutely love this camera. I have the Nikon D90 and to see the upgrades from that is truly a breath of fresh air. There's so many features to list it's not worth listing them here. The coolest feature my wife, my friends, and I appreciate is the wifi capabilities that allow you to send them to your phone @ the same size as they would arrive to your computer. It's awesome. We definitely recommend this camera to anyone interested. Read full review

Nikon D7200 Body
The best time to get one is now when 7500 is coming out and the price is going down. I got mine for seriously low price here on Ebay and love it. I am one of those that don't run and buy new product (especially not pre-order it) but rather wait and give it few months on the field and see what others say :)
Nikon D7200 has proven his dignity through the years and it will remain for another few very high ranked, and not to mention the price you can get it now, comparing with what you get...
I would conclude it there...Read full review

Bought the D7200 to replace my aging D200
I am accustomed to the weight and sturdiness of the D200 and I am finding the D7200 to fulfill that solid Nikon feeling. It is only 4 oz lighter so hardly noticeable. It has the same type frame og magnesium and has some dust a moisture sealing like the D200. But I really enjoy the use of small levers and buttons for quicker adjustment while shooting which is so much like my D200! I had tried the D 5600 but while it has the same fantastic cmos sensor and processor it is more menu driven than the D7200 and therefore a little slower. If you do not need to make quick adjustments frequently while shooting, the 5600 and 3400 are great. But I needed the robustness of the D7200, the stainless steel lens mount and the extra levers and buttons for fast adjustments. It is, for me, the perfect replacement for my D200.

One of the best bang for your buck DSLRs out there
This camera, especially used or refurbished, is a fantastic deal. It's one of the smallest APS-C DSLRs out there that still has nearly all of the prosumer level features of the Nikon 7xxxx series. Yes it would be great to have a 2nd dial, but that's not a big deal at this price.
I added the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 prime lens and love the results I'm getting.Read full review

Nikon D7200
This is my 3rd Nikon D7200. I have had the D80, D90 before the D7200's, but the 7200 is by far the most amazing camera yet. I also have the D750, that is really great for wide angle shots. I use the D7200 for about everything including astrophotography, and macro work. The built in time laps is so cool.
The ability to fine tune auto focus on all your lenses to get tack sharp pictures is worth it's weight in gold.
The new D500 is twice the price as is the D750, but no way worth it. The D7200 is the best deal and camera ever for the price you pay.Read full review

Awesome with great features.
This camera has a complete pack of goodies. I am so delighted with my purchase. It will take me a while to learn all the functions. The detailed instructions are very helpful. The tripod is not very strong and is too lightweight for the camera. That is my only complaint. All other items in this camera pack are well made and will provide me with everything I want to take the type of photos I have in mind.Read full review
