Nikon at its best for the rookie photography!

Moving up to a DSLR camera can be daunting; I found this out when I got the user manual and the hundreds of pages on how to use it. Additionally, when using the monitor, the amount of info on the screen is overload for those of us just starting down this path. Sooooo, with that said, its pedigree is great and its shutter count was spot on and everything with its functionality is inspiring--now I just have to become familiar with it and reach a comfort level to produce the photos I hope will match up with Nikon! A joy to use!

I've had it for about a week and have taken more than 1300 pictures. I love the fact that with a little ingenuity, you can use just about any lens on this camera. I bought a thirty dollar adapter and now I'm using a Leica lens on it. And it goes without saying that you can use almost any Nikon lens ever made and still get excellent metering and focus confirmation on non-AF lenses. I think I'll keep it!Read full review

Not all item work with this camera

I bought this package because the price of the camera and lenses alone are worth every bit of the price. My only complaints are that the extra battery that comes in this package DOES NOT work with this camera nor does the Wireless Remote. They are made for an entirely different camera. The backpack that comes with it is okay but none of the dividers that come with it fit like they should and the backpack can not be configured any other way than what is shown in the picture.Read full review

Nikon - clean, fast, but not quite perfect

Typical fast focus, but though image is clear, poor color accuracy is par for Nikon - best fixed in post production. Too bad - don't know why Nikon can't fix this lingering issue. Awesome DX Camera

I have been shooting FX for years. I have a D810 and D750, both excellent cameras. I had a D7000 for a while, and loved the pictures it took. I retired it for FX.
So, with the D500 release, which I pre ordered, I wanted a DX until it is release and bought the D7200. Using my FX lenses on it produces fantastic photo quality. It is an advanced camera and I wish I had gotten it sooner!Read full review

Perfect family camera for our home.

I've never had a "fancy" camera before so we decided to look for a good beginner's DSLR. Right out of the box we popped in a flash card, we easily synched the camera to my phone with the snap bridge app, and took it to the State Fair. Despite my inexperience, the camera worked flawlessly in full auto mode. The pics synched to my phone so I immediately cropped them and sent them to the friends that joined us there. Now that I got started, I'm venturing off of the full auto mode and am learning to use the other features that this camera has. I'm not trying to come across as being a pro, but this camera sure makes me look good.
