Great Little Camera

For its size and specs it does a great job, even in adverse lighting conditions. At full zoom even, with stabilisation, the images get a little soft. The controls of the camera are complex and you need time and effort to absorb it all - if you ever do!!!! At $398.00 it was a good buy and I have used it a lot over the last few months, but am still mystified by some of the controls..Read full review

by TOP CRITICAL REVIEW

Good compact zoom for the money

My review is based on the limited time (1 month) that I have had the camera.
Goods compact zoom for the money. Perform best in day-light conditions. Photo quality drops significantly in low-light and night conditions. Be careful when venturing to a windy dusty place with this camera, mine caught a few sand particles inside the lens on a windy day at the beach.Read full review

very satisfied

I have given up trying to be the worlds best photographer after 60 years, starting with a Retinette 1A and then progressing onto a Practica IV and then various other SLRs and lens combinations. I have about 2000 slides alone. I then went digital with a little Canon which was OK but limted so in my dotage lashed out on this. And wasn't that a good idea. Incredible optical magnification that made my old 200mm telephoto with a 4X magnifier fade into insignificance. A great point and shoot and capable of much more if you want to. And a good battery life! And that tiny little electronic viewfinder is great when the sun is in the wrong position.
For my style of photography, couldn't ask for more.

annoying little issue

The Panasonic Lumix TZ80 seems to be the best buy of the bunch for quality and value. But there is one tiny issue that just bugs me (and I'm not sure but I think it will apply to most of the range). there is no short instruction book in the box. My wife uses it as a point and shoot and gets flustered when she has to go through the menu...let alone the online manual when she's taking a pic on holiday.Read full review

Lumix TZ80

Amazing Zoom, a pity the aperture choice is limiting though. All round good for travels.
