Small but perfectly formed
It's neat, easy to use, with great functionality and looks good. The reception is excellent and the sound quality is remarkable for such a compact unit. It will run on batteries or from the mains and you can buy an additional chargepak which will charge in the radio. This is quite simply an excellent radio with easy to use controls and menus. it even has an alarm and timer. .Read full review

Radio ok, but retailer excellent
First of all, the retailer (AO). I had a problem with the first unit delivered to me and AO couldn't do enough to make sure it was replaced and I was happy. All phone calls promised by AO to keep me posted were made and rather than try to railroad me into any decision, they always asked me what I wanted to do. When a replacement unit wasn't initially in stock, they even offered me a free upgrade (which I declined). Every other company (not just retail) should take note of AO's excellence.
The radio itself is lovely. OK, the sound quality if a little muffled, even with bass set to min and treble set to max, but I can live with it. Strangely this wasn't a problem on the first (faulty) unit which had a metal speaker grill rather than a kind of strange cloth affair that the replacement has. But the big frustration is that the clock digits are way too close together. It's hard to see what the time is because if it and I struggle with guessing the time from the display if I don't have my glasses on. Seriously Pure, you need to change this.
Apart from those niggles, the unit feels really well made and I love it. Expensive for what it is, but you often have to pay a premium to get what you want.Read full review

Pure Radio DAB/FM
We have always had a problem in our area with DAB reception.
But this small radio is excellent, bedside Radio/Alarm. Lovely soft-glow display.

Compact, great sound, easy to use.
This is a great little radio, it's just what I was looking for. The best feature is the big on/off button, which also is the volume control when it's on. It's chunky and really easy to use. Another thing I love about it is that you can set the alarm for a different radio station and different volume to whatever you're listening to when you go to sleep at night. So something soothing on a low volume when you set the sleep function at night, but something louder and "get out of bed" when the alarm goes off in the morning. Brilliant!
The five preset stations are easy to save and easy to select - one button press.
Perfect for a bedside table as it hardly takes up any space. It's compact with a great sound and clear display. I really recommend it.Read full review

Great little radio
Well impressed - a simple uncomplicated DAB radio with good sound quality. Bought a battery pack for it, which completes the job, so you can use it free standing without the mains cable. Saves on AA batteries as well. Good alarm feature and auto tune.
Bought for my home office and caravan - fits the bill perfectly.Read full review

My first DAB radio - underwhelmed
Thirty-year-old clock radio died, so needed a replacement. Wanted something small and cheap yet reasonable quality. After much hunting settled on this. Not bad I suppose. Like most of these the display is too bright in a dark room at night even on it's lowest setting. Do the designers ever actually try their stuff? Audio quality is good although no better than FM. More of an issue with DAB than the unit itself. DAB signal strength is just adequate not to get drop-outs where I live with the aerial partially extended. On FM you don't need the aerial extended at all. Again, an issue with DAB. The unit is neat and looks good. It's easy to operate. The facility to operate it on batteries is a plus. All-in-all it's okay, but I'm not knocked out by it. Glad I paid only a bit over half price for a refurbished one. I wouldn't be as content if I'd paid for a new one. Lastly, a small length of the power lead supplied had obviously been caught in something, tearing the insulation and exposing the conductor. The conductor was only the ground and I really couldn't be bothered of going to all the hassle of returning it, so I shrank some heat-shrink over it to make good. For the money I couldn't really complain.Read full review

Small but perfectly formed
Second one I have bought as it is so good and easy peasy to use. Good sounds for an average sized room but probably not for a large room. As it is so small it's great for small shelves, table tops etc. Doesn't have bells and whistles but I'd never use them anyway. Several station pre-sets that are easy to choose from. Great value too.Read full review

Pure mini pop
The ease of use of this unit is pretty good once you're used to it. It does not have a big huge abundance of functions but I use this as a bedside unit and does the job very well without complication. The sound is very good with speech and music. With bass and treble controls you can adjust the sound if necessary just do not expect a thumping bass ,but as i say all audio is clear . I do not use the FM function as the DAB reception is very good even where I am which is not a great area for TV reception but this unit can receive strong channels no matter which one I tune to on the DAB side. I have not needed the use of alarms yet as I write the review but the ease of using the controls should be ok as I adjust any of the settings even without a light on in the room. It does have a large display for the size of the unit and is very clear also dimmable on both standby and in use.Read full review

Super little radio
I bought this as a clock radio, but to be honest the brightness at night is a bit too much, especially if you have it next to you. But other than that, reception is excellent, sound is really good and fairly easy to operate. I decided to keep it in the end rather than return it as it looks great by my reading chair. If you are looking for a bedside radio, I would suggest the Pure Siesta Rise! This one is hard to beat!Read full review
