Ring Chime (Not Pro)

Good product. You can select the chime and the volume. The chime works with the doorbell, bell and motion, and the floodlight cam, motion.

First: If you're setting it up using an android device it won't connect to the network. There is a trick. Too bad it took 6 Ring representatives to find out what it was. On your android device. Go to settings. Then Biometrics & Security. At the bottom under Privacy, turn on location. You can turn it off after your chime is connected.

Second: Don't waste the extra 20 dollars on the Chime Pro. Instead for 15.00 buy a TP-Link TL-WA855RE extender. Plug it into AC power near your router. Push the WPS on your router and the WPS on the extender. In under 2 minutes you will be connected. Now you can move the extender almost anywhere. Mine is over 100 feet from my router. This extender is much superior to the Chime Pro extender and you can put it wherever you want. You will really see the advantage if you add the Floodlight Cam. My extender is only 15 feet from the floodlight cam. My chime is in the foyer. Everything receives a strong signal.Read full review

Will not connect to my wifi

The ring doorbell is great.
The ring chime that should work with ring doorbell will not connect to my Samsung Galaxy S9 using my wifi. Put the chime next to my router, no good. Put chime next to my ring doorbell, no good.

Easy to set up.

Set up and connecting are easy and without any complications. The feature that I do not like about the chime, is that you cannot assign different tones if you have multiple doorbells hooked up to it. Necessary part of a Ring Doorbell!!! It is a doorbell with Lots of security features but it only works through your phone... a doorbell needs the chime or it’s not a true doorbell!!!

A great feature to add with the ring doorbell

I like the motion notification it provides. If not for the Ring Chime, I would not know if a package was delivered because no one rings the bell. One downfall for me is that it gets a lot of poor wifi connection notifications from the one located in the basement.
