Samsung Gear 360 4K Spherical VR Camera - White

Interesting, not amazing image quality but cool gadget. Notice: NEED Micro SD to use

It is an interesting camera, it doesn't have an amazing image quality, but the 360 feature feels innovative and interesting.

Compatible for several devices, including iphone (check online for device compatibility list)

Pros:
- Small and lightweight
- Can take photos alone without a phone, but you have send or connect camera to a computer or device to see the pictures. (I don't know if you can do it right out of the box, although there was a firmware update so I recommend to pair it with a compatible phone first)
- Good daylight photos
- Modes (all modes can be single lens -panoramic- or dual lens -360-): Photo (nice panoramic wide angle when used in single lens mode), dual lens 360, video recording , short video looping, time lapse mode (my favorite feature, I think it takes a picture every 5 seconds)

Cons:
- No internal memory, you will NEED a micro SD to use (you can test and turn on device, but it has no internal memory, so you can't take any photo without an SD card, I think they should at least include a 4gb or 8gb card, box recommend at least a class 10 sd card)
- Low quality photo compared to recent phone cameras
- Low quality photo in low-light conditions
- Low Battery life
- No charger, just charging/data type C cable

Neutral:
- Interesting stabilization ring to keep camera from tilting, seems stable when "docked in" but I would rely too much on that

Conclusion:
It's an interesting and an eye-catching gadget that will make people turn their heads and check the camera and talk about. I feel like it still has a lot room for improvement in terms of picture quality.

Also what I find helpful is that you can take fotos without having your phone, so if you run out of battery on the phone, you can still take pictures and don't miss the moment.

If you like gadgets and new tech... buy it and try :) . If not too much... Buy it... try it and if not satisfied... sell it :)Read full review

Focus

Camera out of focus, image is blurred, could have been dropped or assembled wrong, I dont know its history, the trouble with open boxes. I've tried sharpening the picture to no avail, I have the previous model which has a sharp image, I wanted the 4k model, this one is useless, never again.Read full review

Its a blast if you dont mind showing large video files on your Samsung phone.

Ive been using it as a Helmet Cam while Paragliding. Because it links with my Samsung S8 phone, its important to make sure your phone is off when in your pocket when using it hands free or it'll mess up your recordings and settings.

The vids take up alot of memory because they are 2 videos stitched into one 360 video.

I'm still trying to figure out how to share the videos and Facebook 360 is being a real Snot about setting up an account so I'll be looking for other venues thru Oculus VR account.

I'm currently storing all my files on DVD until I find a betting way and place to store everything after editing.

Don't get me wrong, this a great camera for video nerds but its second generation and still needs a few issues ironed out and more importantly streamlined.Read full review

Great pictures without Mac cinnectivity

The pictures and videos are great - lots of modes and customizable settings. The Gear 360 app for smartphone is really amazing! The only thing that I found missing is ability to connect to MacOS via USB - the device is not visible, so it is not possible to copy photos directly to MacOS, but the display shows USB connection. Worked around this by installing windows in VIrtual box and connected the camera to it.Read full review

Bit of a let down

I got this in hopes of using it as a dash cam, which would work great if I only drove on bright sunny days. There is no night vision capability and I wish the looping offered less than 30 minutes selection. And it cannot handle the heat of daytime driving. So I will use it for other video needs and keep using my 20.00 Blaupunkt cameras from Pep Boys which DO have night vision, 10 minute looping and good image quality.Read full review

Samsung Gear 360 (2017)

Does good enough job recording 360 movie. Connects well trough bluetooth to samsung 7 using samsung gear 360 app. Stitching could be trying, especially with different exposures at the front and back. Produces h.264 movies using Gear 360 director editor. The editor is somewhat buggy but does the job. The h.264 360vr footage can be uploaded to YouTube. Nice camera

This is the second 360 camera that I've bought. The first was a huge disappointment made by andoer. I am much happier with this purchase. The main issue is the stitching, where the two pictures come together, it isn't done very well. The andoer camera only had one giant fish eye lens on top so their was no stitching but the quality of the image was just terrible. The one other thing is that the live broadcast doesn't work on the S6. you need A galaxy device with Android 7 or newer.Read full review

Rather tiny camera to hold. Received some hours ago, but still struggling to connect with Android. And not easy to find applications either Apple or PC. But hope these problems will be sorted out soon. I found there is limite of using phones. Only later than iphone 5s & Samsung later than note 5& galaxy 6.
