The A9 is outstanding and I bet the A(ll is evern better..

I am a Sony shooter and have been sense 2018. Canon before that..I had read a lot about the A9 before getting my hands on one (used). It is everything that I had hoped for and read about..It will take some getting use to some of the setting as they are a little different form the A7Rlll..I still have the R3 and use it.I got the A9 for wildlife and BIF. Although I have done a lot shooting BIF with it other then practicing some odd small birds..I will love this camera..Read full review

Fast. Very, very fast.

Everything is super fast with this camera. The autofocus and tracking abilities are perfect for action. After a little while of customization, the entire camera can be changed between your common shooting modes with just a click of a button. I like that it has the option of using a whole set of different settings while holding down a custom button, and the previous settings return once the button is released. I also like that there are three dials, so I can have one for shutter speed, one for aperture, and the last for ISO/exposure compensate. The camera is made to meet the demands of a professional, and it makes it hard to miss a shot due to the camera's fault. Sure, animal eye autofocus and a higher resolution would both be appreciated for wildlife photography, but those are in the a1, at a much higher price. Read full review

One of the Best for high ISO work

As expected, the A9 is a very capable professional camera. I bought it for its low-noise, high ISO performance, mainly to cover concert venues, rodeo, basketball, roller derby and polo. I use it with the 24-70/2.8, 80-200/2.8, and also the 24-240 and 100-400 Sony lenses. You can set your shutter speed as appropriate for the action and let the ISO run as high as ISO 32,000 with excellent results. The noise is remarkably low and can be handled in post. The A9 focusing is great in low light and focus tracking is also very effective. The electronic shutter is very fast and silent, the mechanical shutter is not loud with no mirror slap, and the buffer is big enough for high-speed shooting. The EVF requires a bit of start-up time, so it's not as quick to fire up (as a Nikon D5) to catch unexpected action. But battery life is good enough that you can leave it turned on. The built-in stabilization is the other reason (besides high ISO) I like it, for legacy lenses and a higher percentage of keepers in general. The body is a bit small, but a grip extension takes care of that. The finish chips easily and the side door is not waterproof. Overall, a great package.Read full review

An amazing camera!

It is so nice to have a smallish more portable camera that can perform with my canon 1dx when needed. It is so much easier to use than even my a7rii with its expanded customizable buttons and manual shutter and af dials. I hardly ever need to go into the menus after initial set up. This camera is a real game changer, and with the new gm lenses, my dslr days are fading fast. I do shoot professionally: NCAA sports, dance, weddings and events.Read full review

Diehard Canon shooter.

After 30+ years of shooting Canon in the motorsports world, shooting EOS-1, 1D,
1D Mk. II, 7D, 7D Mk. II I made the switch. This is the best camera that I've ever used, by a lot. The autofocus is amazing as is the in body and optical stabilization. I have a significant tremor in my left hand that was robbing me of the ability to shoot slower shutter speeds. With the IBIS and OSS turned on, I took sharp pictures at 1/60th and 600mm. That is astonishing!Read full review

Very sharp even at high ISO

Switched from Canon. Still getting familiar with camera layout, but image quality and focus is amazing so far! Was impressed with the lack of noise at ISO6400.

Still a top shelf camera

A9 still has top in class autofocus and a 24MP sensor is plenty for social media and full framed portraits

Wonderful camera

It takes some serious work to set it up for birds in flight, which is my intended purpose for it, but the pictures are beautiful!
