Sony 330 Disk CD Player Does What It Does

This machine is a bit slow and clanky, but it does what I wanted: it provides random play of individual tracks on up to 300 discs. Filled with my jazz collection or my classical music collection, it goes on and on. It works much better than Sony's 400 disc machines of the same era. It also is more satisfying than earlier editions which do not have an optical digital connection between CD player and receiver. With this thing going, I can focus on my reading or writing or room clean up while absorbing music I like--and only music I like. I am very sorry that Sony (and Pioneer) quit making multi-disc players instead of perfecting them.Read full review

Great idea but do these even work?

I've had two of these and both of them broke on me. The first one started skipping disks after a couple of weeks so I bought another one. That one worked for a couple weeks and then had the same problem. I have one of them in for repair so hopefully they can fix it. I think it's the laser reader that needs to be cleaned. Both of these units I bought used, so its possible that I just had bad luck but I can't say I'd buy another one. Read full review

No more handling the CDs for me.

This CD player does it all. It plays the CD then when it is done if you want it to it will move on to the next CD. Or you can have it shuffle the CDs. I love it so much. Sound is great to. I also like the fact that you can label the CDs for easy finding the one you want. Some CDs come with the information already on them and this CD player will pick that up. So everything is labeled and organized and easy to find. No more handling of CDs unless I want to move them around or remove them. Remote has every function on it that you need to move from track to track or CD to CD. You even use it to help you organize your collection. This is the best thing to come along for CD listeners..... I JUST LOVE IT!!!!!!!Read full review

Big but holds lots of CD's.

It is big but it needs to be to hold this many CD's. It's great to be able to turn the knob or push a few buttons on the remote to be able play any one of 300 Cd's. It could use more characters on the display but it is not a deal breaker. The analog output sounds very good but it is nice that it also has a digital optical output. It will play burned CD's but it will not play mp3/wma encoded discs. My computer is connected to my system to play those. The laser pickups seem to fail but they are cheap and not too hard to change. Changed it with about 230 CD's still in the changer. This one is a keeper. Overall a very nice CD changer that has way too many features to list here. The wife likes it too. Makes it easy to find and play all those CD's that did not get much play before. Put all those empty CD cases in a box and stash them out in the garage. Big but still takes up less space than all those jewel cases. Really helped to print out a list that has the location of each CD.

Great CD Player

The player has excellent sound and is easy to set up. Storage of the cd's is easy and the labeling in the memory straightforward. Still can't get a keyboard to work yet on the memory but I may not have the right one. Labeling using the remote is easy if repetitive but that is to be expected with limited letter selection.

Overall I wish I had purchased on of these years ago. The player really makes it easy to listen to any CD at a touch.

Still playing CDs

I was very upset when I discovered that no multi-CD players are being made anymore. I am talking about the players that played up to 400 CDs. When my Sony 400 Disc Carousel CD player died, I searched everywhere for a new replacement. I went to eBay and found this used 300 Disc player and was quite frankly a bit nervous about buying a used player, but I have nothing but good things to say about it. I only wish it played 400 CDs. I had to scale back on 100 of my CDs I was used to playing, but I'm very happy to have something to play my CDs in. There are still people who use CDs for their listening preference - the older generation, but still, we want to listen to our music the way we've been accustomed to listening and it is upsetting that companies are no longer manufacturing these wonderful products. I'm glad I found this one on eBay! Thanks!!Read full review

GREAT JOB!

We had a 200 cd carrisel for many years - but moved and the movers turned it upside down and the cd's were jammed and misplaced - upon trying to take them out - I guess we damaged something and it would not work. I was saddened to learn that they are not making these anymore since music can be enjoy with many other devices...however, With years of CD collections that are the music we enjoy - we were sad to not be able to play them. The owner did a great job restoring this unit and we are very pleased. He wrapped it so securely which we appreciated as well. I just wondered if he would be willing to share his contact information in case we would ever need to have it worked on again. Read full review

Great Machine. Used, but a great buy at $125 plus frt.

I bought this Sony CX-355 CD player as a backup to the exact same model I use for Karaoke. I had to spend some time clearing the previous owner's settings/programs, but now it works perfectly.

Great CD player

This is my second Sony jukebox and I was so disappointed when they have to many many years my first one broke down. Was not able to find them being made anymore or anything like it and while nervous about buying a used one have been very happy with how well it is running and I am now able to have all of my CDs playing again in groups according to genre.Read full review

Player with mega benefits

I owned one of these for several years until it died. It is hard to find jukebox like CD players because of all the MP3 type players or music over the cell phone.

I was glad there was one listed on eBay at a good price. I enjoy very much the flexibility of this unit and that it will hold so many CD's. I will be so sad when this unit dies and will probably be unable to find another one then.

Excellent quality player.
