I was so happy to find the same remote because it is what I'm used to. Our old one was dropped one too many times and finally gave up the ghost.

Not what I was looking for

Simply put, I was hoping for the later model PS3 remote, the multimedia version that can control TVs and peripheral devices. I should have looked more closely at the posting.

To be fair, the remote works just fine -- within its limitations. It only controls the PS3 features (such as playing DVDs or streaming shows like on Netflix). For that, it does the job admirably and that's why I gave it an "okay" rating.

But this particular remote doesn't have all the features I was hoping to get, and that may have been my fault for not noticing the difference. The search I was doing specified the multimedia version, and this posting came up first -- so I probably only noticed the price and went from there.

So +2 stars for having a working PS3 remote for a reasonable price, but –2 stars for not having all the capabilities I was looking for.Read full review
