Good for entry level scoping bad for real deal

I bought this tripod for a spotting scope. It was stable enough for viewing the stars but is not stable enough if you're scoping wildlife. As I was bringing the scope and tripod back in, the scope just came off of the stand even though the stand and scope were upright. Good for the price, good for light scoping, but not too good for scoping action or for mounting a camera to shoot live action.

Stout, but a little bulky

The stand exceeded my expectations. It is stout compared to the lightweight compact aluminium stands in the same price range. The only downside is that I wouldn't really call it packable/portable. It is fairly bulky. But, overall I'm quite happy with it!Read full review
