A South American Herbal Tonic with Complicated Effects.
I've heard about Catuaba for a long time and decided to give it a try. I've experimented with a lot of other "Tonic" herbs and supplements, and I've got to say, for me, at least, this one was a bit more complicated than most. over the course of several weeks I got a number of interesting results. It's moat often touted as an aphrodisiac, and while it does have that effect, it also has a number of others. Some South American sources list it as a general health tonic and also as strengthening to the nervous system and even to help regenerate nervous tissue. It's also used to increase thinking ans as for improving one's mood. There's some science backing all of this up, so it's worthwhile doing some research to know what you're getting into.
Be aware that your experience with this may differ, based on your own biochemistry. Here's what I experienced: I started with the recommended one capsule once or twice a day, and it seemed to be a mild general tonic with a bit of an afrodesiac edge to it. I was surprised to find some little aches and pains I hadn't really been aware of cleared up. It seemed to work as an athletic tonic, but I did notice it combined very oddly with my pre-workout, and made me feel almost overstimulated, hot and a bit headachy. Not a really good thing. After two weeks I increased the dosage and felt a bit more stimulating effect, but also a kind of thick-headedness, and it was really hard to wake up in the morning. I seemed to have a bit more trouble solving problems. After 3 or 4 weeks, I decided to give ti a break. .
According to the research, it has a number of complicated physical effects. A lot of it works directly on brain chemistry, including inhibiting Dopamine reuptake, which may have accounted for my thick-headed feeling ans the mood improvement some people feel. Despite being recognized as an athletic tonic and sex enhancer, it doesn't increase testosterone.
For me, at least, it's something I might take again infrequently. I liked the health-improving qualities, and i'm curious about the neuro-enhancing promises, but I was uncomfortable with the weird interaction with my pre-workout formula and the dopiness I experienced.
Obviously, if you're taking any kind of psychiatric or mood altering medicines, be very careful with this one, and always do a lot of research. Read full review

Not recommended
I have used Catuaba bark before, with amazing results, but this particular brand is absolutely useless. After taking these capsules daily, with increasing doses, it had no effect at all.
Anyone wanting to try Catuaba bark, should try "Caturex" available in Indonesia. Catuaba bark, taken as recommended by "Carurex" works wonders, but do not waste your money on this one. It is either extremely weak or not what it is said to be.Read full review
