Economical heating choice

The Swift Ecotherm heater was an economical choice to add heating to our caravan. I like that it didn't require an additional fuel source(diesel/LPG) to install or operate. It also runs on 240V when you are connected to power which saves on fuel usage.
Installation was fairly straightforward although the installation kit would benefit from a bit more hose being included. My caravan is a 20'6" internal model so not the largest on the market by any means. I experienced a number of leaks during the installation process much like a number of other reviews I have read. I believe most were caused by not having quite enough hose to allow for proper bends when connecting the system. I eventually got the system connected leak free with all of the original parts so don't believe the parts are the problem.
The system operates as advertised and puts out a fair amount of heat. We haven't tested in cold weather yet but believe it will be effective. I found the system a bit noisy, particularly the pump which emits a vibration/noise. I've greatly reduced this by placing compressed foam under the pump and building a box enclosure around the system under the bed. This will protect the heater and pump as well from other items stored under the bed. The noise is mostly fan generated now which you would have with any source of heating. The noise is significantly less than the air conditioner which we have used for heat in the past and much more effective heating.
All in all I am pretty happy with our choice and look forward to giving it a good test during our trip to Tasmania next year.Read full review...

No fuss heating.

It seems to work better with the Hot Water Service on gas rather than electricity and it is a bit noisy but it does give out a good amount of heat. I think the installation kit should include 2 male to female elbows to reduce the amount of space required for tubing installation. It was easy to install however I did use more elbows to reduce stress on push in fittings. It has achieved the results I wanted and expected so overall I'm reasonably happy.Read full review...

Warming my caravan.

Before ordering our new van l decided to fit an Ecotherm.
Because we were having single beds the heater would have to fit under one of them a drawer had to be sacrificed,this enabled me to fit the heater next to the water heater,a simple job with a lot of drawings and planning before cutting and drilling .
Fitting under a double bed may send hot air further down the van because of the way it is facing.,in my previous caravan l fitted a diesel heater ( fan and pump noise) the ecotherm is much quieter only fan noise is heard small water pump is muffled buy mattress ,l see no need for a fan speed controller ,keeps us warm enough all night without any adjustment in very low temperaturesRead full review...

Happy with ecotherm kit

Installation instructions excellent. Took me a few hours to instal but subsequent ones would be faster. One of the shut off taps had slight weep so replaced with another one. I mounted pump under van to reduce slight noise so used 4 additional 90degree elbows. Fan is quiet and seems effective.Read full review...
