Great pump easily converts to Vacuum for homemade SMD pickup tools!
I took me 5 minutes to reverse the action and make it a vacuum for use with a custom SMD pickup tool. All i had to do is rotate the white drum 180 degrees and it's a Vacuum! Fantastic! Relatively inexpensive, reliable, and quiet
I bought this to replace my old pump (the same model as this one) that was making a lot of vibration noise and it was getting noticeably worse as time went by. What a relief to get a new one! I have two fish tanks in my bedroom, so it's such a relief to not have to listen to the air pump noise after replacing the old one. It seems these things start to make a lot of noise after couple of years of continual use. But when they're new, they're nice and quiet. It is very quiet and has the power to get the small fine bubbles to come out of the lime wood air stone. The key to airstones in a protein skimmer is the finer, and more bubbles the better. No, not silent. You can still hear a whisper. Basic, no-frills air pump. Rated for 40 gallons, powers two sponge filters at 20” deep no problem. Filter #3 was a bit too much though.
