The Outsiders (DVD, 1999)

Well worth seeing! You won't be disappointed.

I had never seen this movie. Frankly, I'd never heard of it, but after looking up the story behind it and being amazed at the cast that made the film, I had to order it. All of these actors are A-list, but what's so intriguing is they were in that period of their lives when they were just getting started in films; they were all kids! The story itself is really engaging and looks like it was all shot in real locations, not on sets. The lines for most of the characters are simple, but realistic to who they are supposed to be. There's real feeling in the story and acting. This is a Coppola film, and it is well done. I wish I'd seen it when it was released, but that doesn't matter as it may be that I not only appreciate it now, but perhaps maybe more so now. Seeing where these fine actors got their starts and knowing the successes their careers have had is very gratifying. Great DVD, great film!Read full review
