12vlt to 12vlt solar charger

I have had it installed and it works well and the display is excellent. No switches to turn on and off is a bonus. Plugged my 120 watt Portable solar panel into it on an overcast afternoon and it showed 80% charge going into my gel battery. Read full review

Overheats and kicks out

It charges for ten or 15 minutes and then overheats and shuts itself down. At 50 degrees rate of charge decreases dramatically and at 80 degrees it stops charging completely. This happens extremely quickly. I can't even charge one battery I drive 2800km and it wasn't charged.

Watch the voltage output!

Voltage output is up to 16.2V, and can occur under input from solar panel. This is too high for sensitve equipment and resulted in a burnt out fridge board in our caravan! Be aware....
