Wow it's Great!!!

Out of all controller I've used. This is the most comfortable one I ever used. Probably because I have big hands lol. Really appreciative of you selling the rare controller. For it being used, it's still brand new to my eyes and touch. Thank you also for staying in touch due to the delays. I kinda don't care about that since I'm more focus of this controller. Anywho this controller is definitely designed for a gamer who's in between from M&K and Controllers. It's perfect for us!Read full review

Lightweight, great for laying in bed.

Make it simple, this controller is built well, has a great feel to it and works very easily.

It does not perform well for first person shooters though, if you're buying this to play games such as Call of duty, Rainbow six siege siege and other first person shooters you may not be to happy with the product, although It is a great controller for games that are not fast paced such as Xcom series and Civilization series.

Controller is also great for sitting in bed and watching netflix.

Finally a great PC controller

Awesome controller! It takes a people (okay, a lot) of getting used to at first, but this thing lets you play games in a way you could only dream with other controllers. Change the directional pad to a scroll wheel for menus. Use the gyro to do fine aiming. Change your character menu to save/load options when you press a bumper. Plus it actually works to control the desktop - obviously not as smooth as a keyboard and mouse, but surprisingly good. And the typing is actually okay once you get used to it!Read full review

Feature Overload!

The Steam Controller is amazing, and we'll get to that. First, let's get to what I dislike about it. It's nit picky and short.

-Texture, or rather, lack of. It's a plain, smooth matte finish. After using it for a while, it makes my hands sweat. This is more annoying than anything else. There are places than can will mod the controller for you with a rubber coating. However, I'm cheap so I wrapped my controller in vinyl carbon fiber (The stuff they use on cars). Adds some textures and protects the controller.

-Takes getting used to. It will take you time to become accustomed to the controller. It's different and it's massive amount of options will have you trying new things.

Ok, now on to Pro's.

-Everything is customize-able. EVERYTHING. It can emulate a mouse, a joystick, a gamepad, a keyboard. Or all four. At the same time.

-It works on more than just Steam games. Want to use it with other non-steam games? Just add the game launcher to steam and launch it in Big Picture Mode. You can now use the controller with anything. (I use it for Star Citizen).

-It has a gyroscope. (Ya know, that thing in the Wii U that lets you tilt and turn by moving the controller.)

-Button options galore. You have buttons. You can use a button for a state so you can program that button again.

-Touch pads. These are amazing. These aren't like your touch pad on your computer. They have micro sensors and haptic feedback. You can set it to work and feel like a trackball.

-Extra quick button menus. 'Cause there just weren't enough options already. You can bring up tiny quick button menus using the track pads for an additional 32 buttons. 32!!!

-I have every. single. function. in Star Citizen mapped to this controller. All of them. I never have to use the keyboard.

Steam Deck Controller

I am SO happy with my Steam Deck Controller by Valve. They don't sell controllers any more so very happy to get one is beautiful condition. It takes 2 aa batteries which I really like one less thing to recharge (unless you use rechargeable batteries of course). It works perfectly - I just got my Steam Deck and really very happy to have a controller by the same company designed to be used by the Steam Deck. I prefer to play games docked as I play at home, also I am used to console games, not PC mouse and keyboard so a good controller is important to me.Read full review

To enjoy this controller, you have to do your homework!

This controller is very unique. There is no other controller on the market that's at least readily available to the masses like it. It doesn't stick with conventional controller design, as is noticeable by the choice to omit the button-based d-pad and the second analog stick, opting instead for 2 touch pads with haptic feedback. Let's talk about that. While it is very loud if turned up to high, which no one actually showed in any of the reviews I saw, it's an awesome feature that makes the controller in my opinion nearly perfect. Natively it supports using it for desktop browsing (I can't wait until they implement a pop-up on screen keyboard similar to the big picture mode one), and it's incredibly customizable. Sensitivity for gyro & touch pads, every single button, stick, grips, and pad's functions are rebindable, customizable haptic feedback, and to top it all off, the community has a ton of configs to where you should be able to find a config that works for you without too much work on your behalf, with exception to if it's importing an emulator or something like that into steam. This controller is a true diamond in the rough, don't overlook it just because it's different. 8/10, only losing 2 points because of some config issues I've had, as well as minor glitches such as the analog stick getting stuck every once in awhile forcing me to walk in one direction.Read full review

You'll either love it or hate it.

For games that support controllers, there's less setup, but be prepared to take a few minute before or during each game setting the controller up. You may also find yourself changing configurations midgame. During the Witcher 3, I found it made more sense to have the bottom trigger to be Witcher sense (left trigger) and run (A button) with how often I hit those two buttons. It worked great for older games (Unreal 2k4, Doom 3, etc.). There's downloadable profiles, but they range from okay to bad. It's better to set it up the way you like it. It lacks the accuracy of a true mouse, but those games were very playable.Read full review

Everything it should be

Once you have a steam controller already, a single dongle will support up to four, just like a 360 wireless adapter. That means that this controller is cheaper and more functional than a wireless 360 controller. Can't beat the value.

There still are some games (mostly lightweight indie) that don't play well with the steam controller, and it (currently) doesn't do too well with Mac OSX, but it should improve over time. Would buy again.

You may have to take a week or two to train yourself to use trackpads, but it's absolutely worth it. However, don't expect someone to come over and just pick it up and like it. Most people will be immediatelymore comfortable with a 360 controller. After time, they will like this better. Thanks for this opportunity!

Easy setup!

This controller took less than a minute to setup, assuming you already have Steam installed on your computer. The wireless connection is very dependent on line of sight; if there are any obstructions between the remote and the USB dongle, the controller will quickly loose its connection. I have used it for over 100 hours, and have replaced the batteries (AA x2) only once.Read full review

Two powerful and flexible devices from Valve to bring your Steam collection to the living room

The Steam Link works incredibly well. I usually can't notice any lag in my setup (Link connected to router by cable; desktop PC connected via 5G Wi-Fi), but once in a blue moon (say, every hour or so) the screen freezes for a few seconds while the host is still running. Definitely recommended for anyone aiming to game from the couch and willing to accept a 1080p, 60 Hz cap. It came with a handy quick-setup guide, but the procedure is very straightforward and it was running in a minute. It is also very convenient to be able to get out of Big Picture mode and remotely navigate through my PC, opening apps like Netflix without having to switch my TV input.

The Steam Controller is a great tool to bring your Steam library to the living room. It is an unusual controller, but it was developed to and succeeds in being a device that works for both gamepad-oriented games as well as keyboard-and-mouse ones. The amount of configuration that thing accepts is truly amazing. It feels well-built and was much heavier than I expected. The trackpads have a weird texture, though, and clicking them feels a bit unnatural. Maybe they're the one part of the device which doesn't feel so well-built, which is a shame, considering how important and powerful they are. Thankfully, haptic feedback and customization options improve the experience. Moreover, it has more buttons than other controllers, which is a big plus, especially for playing keyboard-and-mouse-oriented games. Overall, a great foray of Valve into this kind of hardware. Newer and better generations of the Steam Controller should come about, but this first one already feels like a good product not only for early-adopters, but the general Steam public.
