Works for small and regular size mice! Stop feeding them and start killing them.

I was using a different type trap before (the spring snap type) but then started finding the peanut butter gone and trap not sprung = the mice were too small (didn't weigh enough) to spring the trap. So I ordered this one. Sure enough, the first mouse was very small. As far as some of the reviews saying false indicators, try this little trick; I have an electrical background and since this basically electrocutes the mice, put a small puddle of water in front of the entrance hole (assuming you're NOT putting it on carpet). This will get the mice feet wet before entering so when they step on the conductor plates, it will kill em for sure. (water helps conduct better electricity thru them)Read full review

Useless device

I have a mouse problem and purchased one of these to see if it could help.
But have not caught a single mouse.
Installed new batteries, spread peanut butter on back wall, turned switch on.
When checked latter the light blinking indicating a kill. But no mouse and all peanut butter gone.
Repeated many many times with same results.
Have given up with this device. They should change name to "mouse feeder".

Great!....at first

Don't typically write reviews, but i was finally pleased with a purchase i made and was inclined to do so. So easy to use. Had a mouse just about every time i checked (not that i really want the whole world knowing that) then just dunno it out and is ready to go again. BUT after about a week of catching mice, it just stopped. I don't know if the smell of death is so strong now they stay away or what. I would like to think there are no more to get, but the evidence to the contrary is on my counter every morning. I'm going to try cleaning it in sure I'll just wreck it though. So buy a few. It is awesome, at first!Read full review

Amazing product!!

I bought this for my grandmother, who tried a trap so she could release the mice back outside without hurting them but it rarely worked and they were taking over her home. The most humane kill option we could find was this electronic mousetrap and it is worth every penny!! She has caught at least one mouse a day, sometimes more, and they are pretty much gone now. Great part is, they don't suffer and they can be easily discarded. As long as you keep batteries around the machine will last forever. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with an infestation problem or even just a few troublesome mice. We used it with a gel attractant specifically for mice and it seems to work much better than peanut butter or dog food. Great product!!Read full review

IT WORKS!

If you have mice, throw away your mouse traps! This product is safe and it works! A blinking green light will tell you if you have caught a mouse. Turn off the switch, open the top and take out the mouse (wear plastic gloves) and throw the mouse away. Do not bang it on anything to get the mouse out. You will ruin the trap.Read full review

Mine accomplished my immediate goal ! YMMV ;)

I have seen numerous negative reviews and some good ones. I bought one of these advertised as "Brand New" that flat out was used with debris from old kills inside the mouse cage and it Flat Out did not work. Period.

I threw it in the trash and bought a new one locally that works as advertised. I have caught two mice; one barely got inside to the bait before ending it's life. The second was small and was curled up next to the bait ... dead.

Important to clean the mouse compartment thoroughly after the kill. Also check Victor at least daily. If there is a kill, the led light flashes and wears on the batteries (3 months and still have original new batteries). First mouse urinated quite a bit. Second left brown marks on electric plate (similar to bad Victor that I threw out). Large Palmetto bug ate some peanut butter, rolled over on it's back and was alive assuming I would scratch it's belly. It assumed wrong ;)

When you turn it on, the light will flash once and a high pitched electronic noise should be heard for a couple of seconds. Initially, the sound was easily heard. After a month, the sound got louder when I tested it. Then, after the second kill, I thought I broke something because the light flashed when turned on without sound. I tried it again holding it close to my ear and heard it faintly. I assume batteries are OK, if the light flashes when turned on ;) Won't hurt to test batteries (with battery test, multimeter, etc.) ever so often. The power to light the led light may be much less than the power required to kill a mouse.

I also had a 5 gallon bucket mouse trap (Google it on youtube) setup beside Victor. I caught a medium size mouse in that about same time Victor caught second mouse.

Both traps baited with inexpensive peanut butter from $1 store.

Picture shows inside of mouse cage with dirty kill plates. Bait goes on floor at left end. Vent holes at left end. Entrance is at right end. Two kill plates (galvanized metal). One wire from electronic compartment under switch goes to each plate. Plates don't seem to be easily removed (like for cleaning). There are two flexible plastic gates. My big catch had nose in bait and butt was close to entrance.

Have heard these have varying lifespans. Those that lasted longest had been replaced with another Victor.

Would recommend Victor to friend ;) Would also recommend bucket trap (less expensive option).

Catches a mouse every day

Pros: with dry dog food, catches a mouse every day. Sometimes only hours after installing.
No mess.
Satisfying electric buzz when a mouse gets zapped

Cons: cover has a "safety" latch that sometimes won't engage making it difficult to arm the device.
Hinges of the plastic cover break easily.
Throw away dead mouse quickly or it becomes a mess and won't work anymore without a thorough cleaning.

Best Trap Ever

Works when every other type of trap fails. It seems like the mice are too smart for snap traps or sticky traps, but fall for this one every time!

The "Perfect" Mouse Trap

Well, okay, perhaps I exaggerate a bit. I realize that nothing is exactly "perfect" in this world. Still, the Victor Electronic Mouse Trap (M2524) comes close. Many of us can identify with the old style trap. You bait it and....yeah, the mouse got your bait...BUT, the trap is still set. Rats! Or, I should say, Mouse! Yes, indeed, the usual procedure is to bait the trap and, sometimes, to even have to "fatten" up the mouse so that it can set off the trap. Not so with the Victor M2524! Whilst I have not caught dozens of mice (yet), I have caught tiny mice that the old traps would have completely missed. Therefore, the trap works as advertised. If you want "faithful" mouse catching (without hiring Sylvester the Cat), then get you a few of these M2524 traps. I know I want to buy more.Read full review

VICTOR Electric Mouse trap

This VICTOR mouse trap is easy to used, and it kills on a dime. The first day i sent these down, they caught mice within an hr with peanut-butter. I can't complain. There are no cons with this little device. All I have is pros for this device that anyone can use. The best feature is that the part that contains the dead mouse can be detached, taken outside to the garbage bin or back garden and disposed. There is no touching of any dead mouse bodies. I was able to spray it down with hot water from the tap, used some vinegar mixed with disinfectant and spray the tray. I then used more hot water. No touching. Got the mouse bay all cleaned and dried for the next day's setting. I high recommend getting this little mouse killed I like to call the VICTOR-5000Read full review
