Wavelink 1200 ac dual band repeater and router

I brought this unit to be used as a reaper in my basement. I plugged it in my switch and it came up with full power. To change the name of the Wi-Fi, I had to shut down my Wavlink router. You have to use the address 192.168.10.1 to access the repeater. I change the id, but no pass word since its in my basement.

The speed of my router was 40 MBS, and with the repeater its 65 MBS. Netflix picture is excellent. I would buy this unit again.

WAVLINK REVIEW

It helped somewhat with my RING DOORBELL. This is why I bought the WAVLINK. I had delays and bad video from the RING. The WAVLINK has improved it some, but I am still getting delays and bad video at times. I have it approximately 1/2 way (approx. 20' to each.) between the router and RING. Perhaps I'll try it closer to the RING.Read full review

Good distance booster/repeater

Does the job once programmed. I could not get it to program (set-up) itself acording to WiFi instructions provided. I hard wired it to ether-net and it was easy to set up. Unplugged it, moved it to where it was of most benefit, and it performs as expected.
Do not expect this device to speed up your lower speed internet. It only improves reception further away from your primary WiFi transmitter, which maintains your present performance. It does a good job of that. That was what I expected, and it works well. Caution, it does seem to get a bit warm.

small package with a big punch

This unit has some decent fixtures with easy setup. The range is huge. I have this installed in an outlet behind the fridge right now and it gives full signal throughout my 4500 sqft metal constructed shop. Even have full signal within a metal room in the shop. Cant beat that for the price!Read full review

It Depends....

If you need some internet extension, don’t have a Cat 5 cable connection but just need something to extend your WiFi signal this is a reasonable option. When it is used to extend the WiFi is is OK. I think it would be much faster if it were hard wired to the computer network. Read full review

Difficulties

Setting up the repeater was straightforward. Getting it to become an extension of your modem is much more difficult since the web site for war link has been down for unknown reason. I had to contact the seller and after many different tries, managed to successfully have it acquire my network.Read full review

2.4/5G Dual Bandwidth Repeater

I'm sorry to report that this unit is not helping in my single story, ranch style home. I'm guessing it is due to the walls since this house is not an open concept. I wish I could have reported better results.Read full review

Not user friendly

I would not buy this if you want something simple to setup & use. I have never had so much problems with setting anything up as I have this unit. I became so frustrated that I put it back in the box & will take the loss in the shorts & go buy a Netgear extender which was so much simpler to setup.Read full review

Doesn’t work

Device was set up using instruction guide. After a short period the internet connection began to break up, suddenly disappearing and reconnecting in an alternate cycle. The original modem provided by our service was also affected by this cycle and after calling our service provider, the problem was confirmed to not be in association with the internet provider, but with the relay device. The device continued to malfunction until turned off. Soon after, the original modem provided by our service provider worked properly, but only after the relay device was turned off.
