It's a Stax.
2 of 2 found this helpful For almost 50 years I've used a "New Stax SR3". It still works very well but it needs the energizer and an Amp. This is slightly inconvenient. I thought I could replace it with the Koss Electrostatic, with a Planar magnetic and various Dynamics. Nothing comes close, so I bought the Stax 3100. Now I want to buy another pair of 3100s. I will do so once I can get a really good price and maybe even sell the SR3. Once you give a fair listen to a Stax you're a customer for life. Of course the Stax addresses MY music listening needs and MY music exposures over the years. The transparency and the feeling of being there is unparalleled.
