The Basis of Film Photography
This volume, one of several, written by Ansel Adams explains the basis of film photography which is the negative. If it pertains to the negative and finer points of technique you will probably find it covered here.

The F4s film camera is great.
The Nikon F4s is a great film camera with many features and no LCD menus. It was the last Nikon with buttons. It will accept all legacy F mount lenses, uses TTL flash with appropriate Speedlights.

Book One of the Series, a good place to start
Volume 1 of the Ansel Adams books making up the film photographer's Bible. This is the start of the series of books that present the basics of film photography as the name states, The Camera. While it was written for film photography the principles it is also meaningful for digital photographers too as shutter speeds, apertures, ISO speeds and more carry through to digital picture taking. It contains more advanced ideas as well.
