Thomas & Friends Find That Freight! Lift-a-Flap Sound Book

Second Book buy
Our grandsons love this book. I bought the first one about four years ago for our first grandson. He loved the sounds and hidden images under the flaps. Unfortunately toddlers are pretty rough on these little hidden flaps and after four years he and his little brother have managed to rip off most of them. The main pages of the book are very sturdy and have held up well. The sound buttons work just as well now as when brand new. This second issue is for our third grandson. I recommend this book for any child boy or girl.

Great edition especially for first time readers of "The Hobbit"
This is a very nice edition to own. There are many well executed and colorful illustrations by Michael Hague. The book itself is of a large size and the type corresponds making it easier to read.

Jam Packed with Goodness
According to my precise calculations there's right at FIVE hours of Pretenders' music here and that's not even including the DVD. I bought my first Pretenders album on vinyl for God's sake back around '87 or so. I've been a casual fan for a few years now and wanted something more for my Ipod collection. This fills the bill. I was completely unfamiliar with most of the songs here but after hearing the whole thing once through I can say there are no duds or filler. Even with the bands different incarnations there is a thread of consistency woven by the strength of Chrissie's voice and artistic focus. Disc 3, with Hollywood Perfume, Night in My Veins, and 977 back to back, is getting the most play from me right now. Listened to their cover of Jimi Hendrix' Room Full of Mirrors again while walking yesterday and couldn't help but feel Jimi would strongly approve. I look forward to getting even more familiar with this great music. The DVD is interesting too but I haven't watched it all yet. It has a mix of mostly, could be all, British TV appearances where the group is lip syncing to their studio recorded releases along with some other live recordings. It spans performances from 1979 through 1995 and is not chronological. The highlight for me so far has been the performance of 2000 Miles with the string quartet. Pretty song. The local record shop, if you can call it that, wants 75 bucks for this set but you shouldn't have to pay that much on Ebay. I'd say it's a great value at whatever price you're willing to pay.
