Great iMac, a real rip-snorter!
This particular iMac is a beast! It has the full load of 32GB RAM, and a 480 SSD which enables it to absolutely murder any demanding program including graphics manipulation. Every command flies at solid-state speed.
iMac MC814LL/A (3.1 GHz) is a very desirable transitional iMac. It has the best of the old connectors as well as some new. Has an internal Superdrive and FireWire 800, both not in newer iMacs, as well as a card slot and two Thunderbolt connections and four USB. I can connect all my legacy hard drives, printers, and a couple more displays. It can run every Mac OS up through High Sierra. The 27" screen allows for many program pages open and on display.

Very good overall for most uses.
These are closed back headphones. I find them comfy enough for home hi-fi listening. However, they become less comfy the longer they are on my noggin. The closedness and isolation make them eventually irritating due to the relatively small soundspace, with those vibrations pounding on you in that enclosed space, the spectrum of sound banging on your head.
I have headphones that are better to my hearing, more sparkly and natural. These sound a bit dull compared to higher spec 'phones. I do not think these are full-blown audiophile cans. They do seem, though, to give that rather flat response, which I favor, that is characteristic of many high-end cans.
However, most reviews and all marketing says they are great for what they're designed for -- critical professional mixing using high-end equipment and high-end ears. I wouldn't know. My ears are old and my hearing victims of Led Zeppelin.
These are 250 Ohm, and much is made of that, cautions that this relatively high impedance makes them less suited to usual consumer use. Baloney. These work splendidly plugged into my headphone amp, a fairly low-end Bellari PA550, that cost about a hundred bucks, IIRC. The phones are easily pushed by my ten year old iMac, and my Galaxy A12 phone. Have no fear. Plug them into anything. They'll likely work just fine.
I bought these by mistake. I much prefer open back headphones. But I'm keeping them. I haven't tried them yet with good ol' rock-'n-roll. I expect they'll be particularly good for that.
If you think of yourself as an audiophile, listening to jazz and orchestral and solo instrumentals alone in your listening room, then pony up the bucks and buy high-end headphones.
If you listen to the music, somewhat disregarding the speakers or headphones as mediating personalities, then these might make you very happy. They are very good overall.

Quieter, solid, cuts those hairs
Probably nothing better out there. Much quieter than previous model! Certainly does the job. Quality feel to it. Components seem well made. No excess vibration. No pinching.
