Fixed My Monitor
My SAMSUNG S23A300B was dead thanks to failed firmware. Soldering this replacement chip on to the main board did the trick. The leads are pretty small, but it was doable after sharpening my soldering tip.
No special tools were needed, just the iron, solder and a wick and a multi-meter to check that there was no solder bridging between pins when I had finished. The trick for me was leaving enough solder on the pads when unsoldering the old chip so that I wouldn't need to flow new solder onto the leads to make good contact.
