Good value lower noise

Ryobi 18" 40V chainsaw for limbing and light duty

Good tool particularly for limbing and some bucking up of logs. The battery overheats and shuts down to protect itself if used for continuous bucking up logs. I now have 4 batteries which allow me to keep working for a couple hours while rotating through them. Includes going back to the ones that have cooled down. I get the impression from online resources that people have had more problems with these 40V battery packs than say the 18V units. I wanted a lighter, quieter saw to protect my body and ears, I am pleased with that aspect. The pull trigger on and off seems a lot easier and safer than my gas saws. I should mention this is likely not for professional daily heavy use. I've been using mine an hour or two at at time cleaning up debris from a heavy ice storm mostly in soft pine. I'll be surprised if it last for over 6 months. Just not built like my gas saws.
