A True Pentalobe

Unbelievable Value!
When these CPUs first came on the market, they cost hundreds of dollars. Now you can count the dollars they sell for on one hand. That's not an unusual technology cost curve, but it still amazes me.
What first impressed me about this unit was how it was packaged. Even the package sealing tape on the box was immaculate — applied with the precision of a master packager. Someone really cared about how this little box was sealed and labeled. Inside, the CPU was safely packaged in anti-static foam to protect the delicate pins, and in anti-static foil.
Installation. I've answered the question 'Is it easy to install?' with 'no,' because to answer 'yes' would be misleading.
The truth is, installing the CPU was the easiest thing I've ever done. Once you remove the old CPU, the new one just drops in, and you lock it down with a twist of the socket locking pin. Nothing could be easier. On the other hand, GETTING to the old CPU was difficult and at times, very tricky (I was upgrading a 2006 Mac Mini), but with special tools, lots of patience, and the help of outstanding Youtube instructions, the operation was a complete success. The CPU upgrade breathed new life into an aging computer. Now it has a faster processor, which enabled it to address more RAM, and accept a newer, better operating system than it otherwise could have. What a bargain!
