MUCH better than using Shimano App

I was very frustrated with the Shimano E-tube Project app for updating my e-bike firmware. Of the 10 times I used the app, the bluetooth on the e-bike dropped signal mid-upgrade, locking up the unit twice. Luckily, unplugging the battery worked the first time it bricked. But no such luck the second time... bike was down for two weeks since local bike shops didn't have this unit. A bit disappointed with Shimano's firmware applications team that they created such a poor way for consumers to update from their phone app through bluetooth. Any drop in signal equals a non-functional unit! So I decided to buy this unit as it is a direct wired connection to the bike from the computer. Easy to download the software onto my PC, then plug this unit into the bike. Within 5min, I was back in business! This unit works great, easy to use, and is the ONLY way I will update firmware on Shimano products going forward.
