Small form factor is deceiving
I hesitated before installing this outside the house between rooms, because it looks insubstantial, and because there isn't really a cable clip small enough. However, it turns out that normal cable clips will do the job, and, more importantly, this cable will go through a hole drilled through the wall. Granted, the hole may have to be enhanced a bit, but this cable will go through a regular 1/2" hole where the older generation ethernet terminator will not. And that is why this cable just had to do the job. I have had some success in days or yore with wiring my own ethernet cable, through the wall and then wired into a socket. Some of it worked, one in particular never did. So this time I wanted a proper built ethernet cable going straight into an ethernet switch at either end, in different rooms, with the cable going outside. So the cable terminator had to go through the wall, And this stuff does! And boy does it work! Full blast 300 Mbps. Outstanding. I'm hooked on this stuff and am convinced that less is more. Recommended.

Built to last and still looking good
Dating from 2004, this monitor would have been hard to beat in its day, and cost a small fortune. 8 years on, it can be picked up for a lot less, and a good example will show no signs of aging. With VGA and DVI connectors, and a tilt and swivel stand, it stands up well for features. The screen is crisp and bright, with superb clarity and contrast, and accurate colour. For its screen size, the whole monitor is still no larger overall than one would expect, and the weight reflects a first-rate product. The size and resolution of the screen (1600 x 1200) ensure that 2 full pages of A4 can be displayed and read with ease side-by-side using Word, making this still a very practical primary monitor or extended desk-top. Very good viewing angles indeed, the best I have witnessed.

Recommended 95W upgrade for existing 8450 or 8650, great value now
1 of 1 found this helpful I upgraded to this from the X3 8650 alike in every respect bar the no. of cores. The X3 served me well and scored 6.3 on the Windows Experience Index. I understood that I might get a 30% improvement in performance, but it scores 7.1 which was way beyond my expectations. The upgrade on an ASUS motherboard couldn't have been easier. The socket is ZIF, the heatsink is nearly ZIF, the old paste came off easily and the new paste went on easily. The trickiest thing was unplugging the fan! The draw on this is 95W which is the most my motherboard will support, so this X4 is the best my motherboard will take. Note that there are 125W black editions out there with model numbers higher than 9650 which may be good depending on whether that power is supported by your motherboard. I can recommend the 9650 as a cost-effective upgrade for any motherboard that already has an 8450 or 8650 on it. It even helped lift the Aero value from 3.7 to 4.1, which was an unexpected bonus for my built-in graphics!
