Good wifi antenna
I have seen speeds quicker than advertised. Note that it does not work with Windows 2000.

Nostalgic book with some current practical value
The main value of this book is nostalgia -- it brings back so many good memories -- but its selection of things to see is still valuable today. For those not familiar with the series, it started with "Europe on $5 a Day" back in the late 1950s or early 1960s. The premise was that two people traveling together could tour Europe spending just $5 per day on meals and lodging. I first used an edition of the book about 1963, and used later editions many times over the years. Of course, inflation had its effect and the last edition that I know of was entitled Europe on $85 a Day." Of course, the hotels and restaurants mentioned in this edition are hit or miss, and much more expensive. There is one restaurant in Paris that I went to many times over the years. It was still a bargain in the early 1980s, but fully priced in later years. Sometimes it is interesting to go to areas where there were many bargain hotels and restaurants years ago and see how much the areas have changed.
The real remaining practical value of this edition is that I have found that Arthur Frommer's tastes in sights is similar to mine and just a month ago I used his list of key sights from long ago. I have found that many guidebooks are just too detailed for my taste much of the time, but Frommer is spot on.

For reading, 8.9 2nt gen is best.
If you plan to use a Kindle primarily for reading books, the Kindle 8.9 2nd generation is an excellent choice. Some of the later versions and generations may be better or other tasks, but are not as good for reading Kindle books. I have later versions, but often choose 8.9 2nd generation. They handle color, which is important because most covers are in color.
