Very effective design.

Combining both well designed passive with active noise cancellation techniques make these a very effective set of headphones. The passive ambient noise reduction works by covering your ear as opposed to sitting on your ear. The very soft cup foam rim molds to seal out the outside. Combing this with the active cancellation circuitry greatly attenuates ambient noise. With this model, Bose uses 2 microphones per ear cup, one to monitor inside and one to monitor outside noise. This sampling is processed through the circuitry and inverted and re-applied to cancel (or greatly reduce) unwanted noise. This leaves the original incoming audio source or near nothing if not plugged in. Speaker quality is good also, from deep clean base noted up through well defined mid range and crisp highs.

This is a nice little terminal station and good value for the price. A simple swap of the flash memory for a laptop drive loaded with an operating system and the thin client becomes a quiet (no fans) desktop PC.
