I love it!
I love this machine. I can take it to the gym and with a spare battery work for 2 hours on the exercise bike. Sleek and strong in it's old school way.

Producer TYom Cruise puts together the best Mission yet. If you want wall to wall entertainment that will blow you away, watch Fallout!
My favorite Mission and the best quality, and that's saying a lot for Tom Cruise! He is just fantastic. And Christopher McQuarrie's script and directing is top of the line. The producing and acting of Tom's and the directing and writing of Christopher's are unbeatable. Better that most of the Bond films. maybe all of them!
I loved all the other acting, Alec Baldwin was awesome, charming, powerful, and having a great time, Ving Rhames very emotional and powerful, and funny of course. Simon Pegg funny (also of course) but emotional and moving too. Rebecca Ferguson is a real powerhouse of intelligence, physical power, stunning beauty, high acting talent and emotion. Sean Harris back with his new awesome beard playing every nuance to the limit and giving a great three dimensional performance, (especially during a particularly well done interrogation scene.) Angela Bassett is intimidating and powerful as always, Henry Cavill has every level of physical and emotional acting techniques at his disposal and plays the razors edge flawlessly. Liang Yang was unbelievable and totally convincing that he could take on Ethan Hunt AND Superman, and probably win! Then there is the fantastic Michelle Monaghan, who breaks your heart with her love for Ethan that can never be. There is one amazing moment where Ethan hugs her and apologizes and the rush of emotion she has gave me shivers and brought a tear to my eye. And last but least, Vanessa Kirby. She has been dropped on us from the Gods and has stormed into our theaters and home screens in so many ways, and now she is the bad girl/aide de camp/ruler of the underworld/possible lover...what!?! I loved particularly how she found the danger and impending death delicious. I am so glad she will be returning.
The story and the writing both were state of the art. How to make another Ethan Hunt movie beat all the ones that preceded, with every trope detail that we expect, and without making it predictable! The cinematography is jaw dropping, from the emotional scenes to the very large numbers of actors in the tunnels and catacombs scenes, to the amazing master shots, and the beautiful and simple suspense of Hunt being followed slowly on foot by Ilsa (friend, foe, enemy, lover, all of the above?) And the editing was truly masterful. Complex action scenes, equally complex suspense scenes nearly every one with a ticking bomb in it one way or another. The romance, the friendship, the comedy. ESPECIALLY the absolutely masterful scene where Ethan must confront Julia, with the slow reveals of her previously unknown husband (nicely played by Wes Bently), Ethan says reluctantly he is there to work, what a coincidence she is there too (of course they all know it is not.) The presence of Luther and Benji, because her new husband is there no one can say anything, the incredible use of closeups in only two moments which we see the reality of the presence of Ilsa now having taken Julia's place, and the fantastic moment I mentioned before where Ethan hugs Julia, apologizes and she feels a massive wave of emotion all in one incredible edit.
Then there were the stunts. One stunning set piece after another, climaxing in the most unbelievable helicopter chase ever filmed...but then there was more! The scene on the cliff at the end was just as amazing. The motorcycle chases, the car chases, the moments with the female cop in Paris who gets shot, the high fall parachute sequence in the opening sequences (in one take, no CGI), on and on...it was all jaw dropping! Oh yes, the broken foot! In any other film that would be the thing everyone talked about, but this film is so filled with incredible moments and scenes it is just one of the many things that are off the charts.
And that was just from watching the DVD extras! (Just kidding.) But I will say, the DVD extras are the highest of quality, and especially the commentary by Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie. I have been making films professionally for over 40 years and that commentary is one of my top 4 or 5 favorites of all time. You never get tired of what they are saying and it is interesting and educational all at the same time.
And Wolf Blitzer was even in it! So much fun. I saw it three times in the theaters, at least four times at home not counting the extras, and that was before the BlueRay arrived! (Tee BlueRay is flawless and looks really amazing!) Truly a dazzling movie going experience. Producer Tom Cruise puts together another incredible piece of entertainment giving the viewer far more exchange for their time and money than could ever be repaid! Totally satisfying in every way.
I can't wait to see the next Tom Cruise film!
