Old B.O.B. is a jewel in my vintage action figure collection crown.
If you think about collectible vintage action figures as a pyramid with the vast majority being the base, Mego's Old B.O.B. from Disney's 1979 flop film "The Black Hole" is near the tip of the pyramid. Old Bob is part of a second wave of action figures set to release soon after the first 9 had hit the store shelves. Unfortunately for toy lovers and fans of the film, the movie tanked and every company able to do so cancelled there orders. I say every company able to because GIG of Italy and Grand Toys of Canada were locked in contracts obligating them to ship what are arguably the better figures of the line, including Old BOB, the Humanoid and S.T.A.R. As a child of the 70's, completely unaware the toys even existed, I set out to the garage to recreate this iconic character from a golfball, several different sized lids and caps, and wire nuts. 30 some odd years later Ebay allowed me the opportunity to purchase a carded Italian version of Old Bob, completing my line of Italian Gig Black Hole action figures. Old Bob is a must for anyone collecting 1970's action figures for hobby or investment. My first loose Bob purchased several years ago has gone from $250 to $450. Carded examples go for $1200 and more and look great next to golfball versions on the home museum shelf.

Bandai Star Wars Death Trooper 1/12 scale kit 090526
24 February 2017
All you need is a hobby knife and an afternoon
I grew up in the 1970s when models were analog. The quality matched the skill of the sculptor. With computers a far superior product is possible. These kits fit perfectly with no glue and are molded in different colored and textured plastics and rubbers for a finish that doesn't need painting. One can be built well with little modeling skill in an afternoon resulting in a fully articulated model that looks better and moves as well as any action figure in the 1:12 scale at almost half the cost of Revoltech and Figuarts. I love this kit as I have all of the star wars characters I have built. Highly recommended!

Boss Medium Grain Leather Driver 4067M Work Glove (Size- Medium)
05 October 2016
Thumbs are too long
These work gloves while a good price have 2 design flaws. First the leather is an inconsistent thickness with some sewn together sections being considerably and noticeably different. Second the thumbs are way too long. I can only assume if the thumbs fit the fingers would be too short. Good for less than $6 but by no means a bargain.
