Love this lens
1 of 1 found this helpful It may not be the newest version of macro lens, but it is an outstanding lens just the same. It is one that seems to be dead accurate mounted on the D5500, without the need to re adjust focus for lens/camera. I used a focus chart to determine front/back focus for this lens, and I may have been very lucky in this respect as it is spot on.
Auto focus also works very well, but the lens barrel will extent when focusing, whereas the newer version will not due to internal focusing. It is a minor inconvenience, and easily overlooked when rewarded with excellent results.
The manual focus of this lens, with a very long throw, is much appreciated, as it allows for easy accurate focusing of the shot. Many lenses are good but suffer from a very short throw, that makes accurate focusing difficult to use (an example is the 18-270mm lens from this manufacturer).

Excellent buy, very happy with it!
I've always used an Apple Keyboard, but due to a mishap the one I had stopped working. Guess that keyboard didn't like coffee. Pricing out a new keyboard, I couldn't believe the ridiculous price Apple wants for them now. So, next best thing to do is to look on Ebay for a replacement. The first one I ordered arrived "dead-as-a-door-nail", but that was expected as it was priced very low. This one arrived very quick, and worked perfect.

A great lens
This lens is exactly what I wanted, mainly for its macro capability. It's a true 1-1 magnification in macro photography.
The lens is heavy, but not too heavy, and its length makes it easy to handle. A big plus in my opinion is the fact that the front of the lens does not rotate when focusing in manual mode. Placing filters on it, such as a polarizing filter, will leave the filter in one position without having to make further adjustments when changing the focus.
Even though the lens is used, it looks and feels brand new, and for the price paid it was a steal (for me, anyway)
The pictures I've taken so far have been excellent, very sharp. This, again, is just for me as I'm not a professional photographer by any means.
