Top Paw Safety Nail Clipper, Large Size, For Dogs Over 75 Lbs

Clumsy, but builds confidence
I bought these clippers because I had never clipped a dogs claws before and I was terrified that I might clip too much claw and cause the dog to bleed. These clippers gave me the confidence I needed to make a first attempt. They're a bit clumsy, and I practiced for several days before I ever clipped - both to get the dog used to the tool and to give me some experience in how they work. The biggest fault is that after you clip one claw, you have to turn the clippers off and then on again to reset the sensor. That's a bother. And, I still have trouble getting the light to work each time. But, after a few tries, I happily clipped all of his claws without worrying about the light. Even when I used the light, I caused two of this claws to bleed a tiny bit, but it didn't seem to bother him. I had styptic on hand to treat the tiny wounds. All that to say, if I hadn't had these clippers, I probably wouldn't have had the confidence to attempt the task.

Freedom Alert #35911 Personal Emergency Response System Dialer - used

Perfect for a homebound person
We love this because it comes with no monthly fee! And it works perfectly! My mom is 91 and is homebound. The only time she's away from home is when we take her out. So, when she's home and she needs us, she just pushes the button. We've programmed ours to call my cell phone. So in just a minute, she and I are talking through her fob. The "brain" is about 50 feet and several rooms away from her bedroom, but the fob never has trouble connecting with the dialing unit. You can program several numbers into the unit so that if the first number doesn't answer, the unit calls the second number, third number, etc. You must have a landline for this to work. It uses the landline to make its calls.

The MultiPASS Series - Easy and Inexpensive to Operate!
I agree with "wildbuckaroo" that the printer is excellent, but that once the waste ink tank is full, the unit has to be serviced. Here in Maryland, we do have a company that services them. So having the tank emptied every three years or so (I'm a teacher, so I use my printer ALOT) is not a big deal. What is marvelous about this printer is that the ink is unbelievably cheap! My understanding is that, when Canon manufactured this printer, they neglected to patent the ink cartridge. Immediately, every ink company began producing and selling cartridges. I think that printer companies don't profit much on the printer. Their gold is in the ink cartridges that consumers are forced to purchase from them for years at inflated prices. When Canon realized their mistake, they ceased production of the MultiPass series. So, the thing that makes this printer unique, is that you can purchase ink for about $2.40 a cartridge. And it has separate cartridges so you only replace the color you need. Changing ink is neat and easy and takes about 15 seconds. It scans, prints and copies both letter and legal with infinite enlarging/reducing from 1-400%. Intuitive to operate. A reliable little workhorse. I've had mine for about ten years. It's because of this printer that I'll not move to Vista!
