Overrated
His superficial treatment of GEN Patton and is but one weakness of this book. He focuses on the slapping incident with dim modernist hindsight and fails utterly in describing the contributions of the greatest general officer since WW2. He also over praises Petraeus. Ricks tends to be one sided in all his books, and neglects to explore both sides of complicated men.

Lincoln Stinkin'!
1 of 1 found this helpful Read this with an open mind toward the American History you have learned. Lincoln - not an emancipator, not a unifier, but - a white supremacist, a tyrant, and a Marxist before his time! DiLorenzo, just as he did to the image of Alexander Hamilton, punches the Lincoln myth in the mouth.
