    Danmar B.D. Spurs Clamp On - DANMAR-938
    12 November 2019
Danmar Hoop Mount Spus Add Both Flexibility & Stability!
I thought I'd write a review for drummers who may want to build a kit similar to mine.I've always been a fan of those trap sets from back in the 20s & 30s. You know, the ones that kind of remind you of those toy drum sets with a tom mounted on either side of the hoop and that single cymbal in the center of the bass drum shell? So, I bought this 28" marching bass drum - naturally with no mounting hardware or spurs. I recovered it, and an old snare, ride tom and floor tom to match. I bought a couple of claw hoop mounts and attached the ride tom and floor tom to the rear bass drum hoop. The floor tom made the bass drum lean back from the weight, so I bought 2 sets of the Danmar Hoop Mount Spurs - one for the front and one for the back for stability. It's kind of like an old time version of the Slingerland double spurs they introduced in the late 60s or 70s. In turn I bought some Ludwig hoop mounts for my L-arm cymbal holder to put the ride cymbal on. The only thing that is mounted directly on the bass drum shell is a telescoping cymbal holder - to make it look like the toy drum set with the single cymbal on the bass drum. The kit looks amazing and I love playing it out in shows. Everyone seems to comment on how unique it is. And frankly, it really is very unique. NOTE: the photo is from before I realized I would need a set of these spurs for the back side of the bass drum.
Neewer Black lightweight&Portable LCD Digital Beat Tempo Mini Metronome

    Amazing Little Gadget
When I ordered this metronome I had no preconceived notions about it. It arrived and I was taken by surprise by its tiny size. From the photo I assumed it was perhaps the size of a small model cell phone. Surprise! It's really small. Don't let the size fool you it produces a high volume clear beep along with a bright red LED that pulses with the beat. I clip it onto the edge of my woodblock mounted on the bass drum hoop and have no trouble hearing the beat. If things do become too loud to hear it there is a convenient headphone jack on the side. The one thing I can say happens is that after I take the headphone plug out of the jack the unit will not produce an audible beep. At first I thought it was somehow defective. I turned the power off for a few minutes and when I powered it on the sound through the speaker was back. So, if you buy one and this happens to you just turn off the power and wait about 5 minutes. Once you power it up all is well.
Channel Master CM-7600 Stream + Media Player and OTA DVR - Black New/Sealed

An Amazing DVR For OTA Television Recording!! I Love It, You Will, Too!!!
If you're cutting ties with cable & want the luxury of a DVR this is the product you should buy. Granted you won't get to record more than 2 channels at a time, but it works really well. One thing you should know is that when it is recording those 2 programs you cannot change the channel to watch something else because there are only 2 tuners inside the unit. The work around for this is to split your cable - run one to your TV cable input & the second to the Channel Master CM-7600, which has an HDMI output to hook into your television. After scanning for channels on your TV you will, naturally, have the same channels you have on the DVR. I labeled the HDMI input as DVR in the TV menu to make navigation back and forth easier. Now, whenever the unit is recording those 2 programs I watch a third on the TV proper. In short, I would recommend the Channel Master CM-7600 to anyone making the switch from cable/satellite to OTA broadcast television. For the price you could hook up 2 of these for greater recording abilities. So far I have not seen any signal loss due to long cable runs or splits in the cable. I have 4 televisions on 3 floors of my home running off a single OTA antenna - actually that is a total of 6 if you count in the 2 tuners in the CM-7600. In closing I should make note I purchased a 1TB Western Digital My Passport USB 3.0 hard drive to hook into the DVR unit for recording programs. The drive is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand & gets its power through the USB 3.0 port on the back of the DVR. I laid the drive on its side in back of my unit where its out of sight. The hard drive was only $59.99 at Best Buy. I hope everything I've said here helps you make a good decision & is helpful in your eventual setup of the Channel Master CM-7600 OTA DVR.
