Great Series From A Sci-Fi Fan
Im an original Star Trek Fan from the old days, and I loved all the later Trek series over the years. When I ran out of Star TRek I was looking for something new that I missed over the years (being somewhat of a Trekky Snob) I went for the Babylon 5 Series and enjoyed that too. I just love having all the boxed sets to go back to over and again. Then we needed MORE. I remembered the old original Galactica Series and wasn't too keen on trying the new one. I took the chance and purchased this whole collection. Glad I did. My kids and i are just eating them up. We are mostly throught the first season, and the Writing, acting, the effects, everything is just too cool. Definitely Not Star TRek or Bab-5 Different indeed, and Serious stuff. A bit heavy on the "almost R" stuff, but it's got us going, guessing at every plot twist. Definitely recommended for every Science Fiction Addict!

American Engineering AT IT'S BEST
4 of 4 found this helpful The early postwar Lionel Locomotives are my favorite. They are solid as a rock and well engineered. Some would say over-engineered. Most are still running today. Can we say that about Korean and Chinese manufactured toys made today ! This Steam Engine has a die cast body, die cast trailing truck, Nickel rimmed, highly detailed Baldwin type driver wheels (Not Plastic), and full operating drive and valve link rods. The mechanical smoke unit is synchronized to the wheel rotation. Just a wonderfully designed toy. These early Lionel engines do not yet have Magnetraction, but that just means they run more prototypically. A little wheel spin as it starts pulling a heavy train load is just fun to watch. They are heavy enough to pull a decent consist of freight or passenger cars. Also, they are repairable. Parts are still available. No wonder they are so collectible!
